I've Got This... (Leon/Mission)

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey's steps slowed at the sensation coming from below, head tilting as if she could hear it better. It sounded a lot like a heartbeat, though perhaps she shouldn't be surprised with it being pre-war tech.

Following a hunch, she continues the path, checking to see if the pulse would get stronger as they got closer to the power plant.

[Leon]

Her hunch would be correct the pulse even got so strong as to seem like a constant stream however once at the power station it would be like noise, too loud to pin point where exactly it is.

[Bailey Oleander]

She stopped with a small frown, the ruckus ahead too loud for her to find anything specific, noting the changes.

"We're going to want to let the others know about this." Her hand reached for a communications device that wasn't there, followed by several moments of silence as she mentally face palmed. She'd been so wrapped up in the information she hadn't bothered to grab anything. Great job, Bailey. Hoping against hope, she'd look at the guard who was with her, already mentally resigning herself to going back for one.

[Leon]

He would unclasp a radio from his waist and hand it over.

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey took the radio with a grateful nod, calling on the only name she knew at the site. "Mr. Geschichte? Do you know of anything else that's tied to the power plant?"

[Leon]

The radio would come back.

"Uh, there should be nothing, the power plant is dead and no longer produces energy."

[Bailey Oleander]

Ahahahaha.

"Uhm, not quite?" Bailey's pitch rose slightly with the comment. She cleared her throat, explaining as quickly as possible.

"I have the ability to sense energy. Coming from the door at the tent, it felt like a steady pulse. A heartbeat. But I wouldn't be able to pick out the plant if I didn't have the diagram; it's all a loud buzzing like a hive of wasps." She'd give him her current location.

[Leon]

"Very well, I will head that way myself and bring it to you."

And after a short bit the man would arrive, huffing a bit as he sped walk the entire distance.

"This sounds... Wooo... Uh... Very exciting, please... Lead on."

[Bailey Oleander]

"Bring what?" Bailey blinked, waiting patiently for the other scientist to arrive. She would find out soon enough it seemed.

Raising a hand to wave when he did arrive, Bailey nodded and pointed ahead to where the buzzing was, giving him a chance to catch his breath.

"It is possible that what I'm feeling may also be whatever's in the underground tunnels, but I doubt that would be something I would feel so quickly." And if it was, she really didn't want to think of a hive of somethings below where they were going.

"Ah, you said you were going to bring something?"

[Leon]

The guy would nod.

"Uh yes, well."

He would remove his glasses and look at Bailey.

"Yes well, it's more me than anything else, lets just... Move forward. Can you point out the exact location of the pulse?"

He was now with holding information rather obviously, and being a bit more silent on details.

[Bailey Oleander]

It's not the first time he's gone silent when she makes a hypothesis or any statement about what might be underneath.

"With time, possibly, but that's why I have the diagram. Up ahead, it's all a blur." She adjusted her glasses with the tip of her finger, eyeing her new companion a moment.

"Forgive my bluntness, sir, but is there anything you are expecting to find in particular?"

[Leon]

He would kneel down and put a hand to the ground.

"There is a large cable with a spider web of wires running through it right under you. I can follow it to the source."

He'd stand back up and keep looking ahead, his face remaining out of view of Bailey as he began walking.

"When we find what it's hooked to, we can use the diagram."

[Bailey Oleander]

The response was not what she expected. If he could sense that, then it sounded about like what she could. So if he could sense that, but not the energy that came from the door...? She shook her head to clear the thought and would follow, keeping a metaphoric eye on the energy that swarmed below. It was still a mystery something, so she would simply have to be prepared.

Even though his answer wasn't really answer. Then again, that was why she was here.

"Very well."

[Leon]

They would come to the power plant and he would keep to the wire, before coming to a large control panel, a closed off building with no windows and a thick looking metal door. Here however Bailey could sense a huge flow of energy coming from below the building.

"Wire stops under the building... I can't see it..."

This fact seemed to trouble him.

[Bailey Oleander]

Whoa. Bailey blinked, resisting the urge to react to the flow that seemed to rise up from the ground. So he could feel the wires, but not the energy. She shook her head.

"Well there's definitely something there. There's a huge source of energy below the building, and it's strong." She'd look to see if the same symbol was on the building!

Then, recalling something her step-father mentioned about pre-war tech, she'd look up at the building with a hand to shield her eyes to see if anything's popping up on top of it.
