Places like this were supposed to have information, after all, and not just a twisting of lore and rumor from centuries ago. Whatever she found could prove useful in the future, one way or another. He would likely need to focus on spells that would enhance her durability or mobility. He would give that some thought. He had spells for both in his book, but it was deciding which one was the wiser choice to attune to. "Kiron Rot"!" The flash of light continued to fill her with energy as he moved to his next question. Again the jolt of new energy replacing what she had used. What would this have been like out on the open seas? To last longer in a fight, to take others by surprise when they would assume she was done in? To push farther and harder on what they did as a unit?
She could hear the gears in his mind turning even now, almost drowning out the pigeon launch as she lashed out at it. It was hard to stop and think and stay stationary without the word vomit, it seemed. Back home, there aws always something to be done. Even now, previous fights came to mind, the scars on her arms visible in the daylight. Some felt older than the memories she carried.

Another pigeon was launched and decimated. More flickers of memory at another question. Rozalin found the prying a little trying, but understood where he was coming from. It also struck her she hadn't actually answered his question. "I'll weather them as long as I can." His question brought a chuckle from the pirate as she unleased another blow. "No, but you would still be right." Earth magic was all but her opposite. "Kiron Rot!" The practice of giving her energy was becoming routine, a rote action if you will. He suspected soon he would not even need his book for this spell. He'd gotten quite a bit of practice and the symbols and words were searing into his mind with each casting. But he wished to continue. "My book has three options that I am considering. An Earth spell to turn your skin hard as stone for a period of time. It should help you take blows. A shield of water that is will protect you from attacks until destroyed. "Really?" Her interest piqued at his explanation. The versatility was appreciated, and not for the first time. She struck two pigeons again, trying a different angle. The bow crackled in the air as they fell to the ground. "I see you have extra flexibility." Her lips lifted in a hint of an amused smile. "Though I admit, the water shield does sound interesting." But they were making progress. "It's the specialty that I've chosen. I think that you will find I am full of surprises." If it was the water shield she wanted though, he could work with that. He would study up and attune in the element of water. The next time they meet he should have a new trick up his sleeve and a way to protect her other than giving her stamina. "Then I should go back to my room and start studying so I don't disappoint you." He pushed up his glasses before giving her a quick wink. "Excellent." She grinned at his wink, heading over to the weapons storage to retrieve a practice sword and pair of daggers. She wasn't sure which she felt like starting with, but it would be good to hone her abilities beyond just her qi, and she had time to spare. The view it affroded didn't hurt, either.
"Anytime, partner." She'd give him a wink of her own, letting Preston go his way towards his own goals.

He'd take a moment to appreciate the view, something to keep him motivated in the long night he had ahead. A sadly lonely one, but the nights of the greats were built on hard work and discipline. It was the path he chose and he'd walk it gladly. Once he was satisfied with his moment of oggling he'd be on his way to his room so that he could study his book and unlock his next spell.
