Their first bit of training had proven to be quite enlightening. He felt a connection with his partner and believed that they could work well together. He wished to pick up where they had left off however with more target practice while they talked. Perhaps discussing things like battle plans and tactics. They had synergy, and it was important to continue to work on that so it became second nature for them. But they would need to combine that with active measures and preplanning.
Nothing as solid as a direct plan, but contingency plans. Or maneuvers. He needed to know how she fought in a battle. How aggressive was she, when did she push and when did she fall back. All of these things he would need to know if he was to be her support unit. He could flow with aggression or defensive play, but only if he knew what to expect. It was the only way for him to know how to support her, by anticipating her actions before she made them so he was always ready.
With that in mind, he would knock on her chamber doors.

It was early morning when Rozalin heard the knock on her door, solid and a typical tempo to the sound. She hadn't met many yet since coming to Cabal, and she highly doubted that the woman who brought her in would be on the other side. The remaining options were few.
"One moment." Grabbing a hair tie to pull her curls into complacency, Rozalin opened the door to find her partner on the other side. It was a pleasant alternative to others she could think of, and the sly smile slid into place at the sight of him. From the door, Preston would be able to see that Rozalin's room was relatively bare, the bed made without a wrinkle in the sheets and the curtains only partially drawn at the window, allowing sunlight in as well as the sounds of the campus with the window that was currently open a crack.
"Miss me already?"

He asked, pushing his glasses up with two fingers, giving her a quick once over with a visual sweep as he adjusted himself, and his book under his arm. He was here for a reason, but he could enjoy a bit of banter before just dumping his desire for another session on her.

"No, but a girl likes to know sometimes." She gave him a playful wink as she stretched, arms coming forward without touching him as she felt her shoulders release when they dropped back to her sides. She looked him over, knowing full well he was getting a good view, but also knowing he probably wouldn't just waltz up to her bedroom door for no reason. And not that reason, either. At least, she assumed so.
"What can I do for you this morning?"

Oh, he could think of a few things she could do for him while she stretched. He was still a flesh and blood man after all. But if she had verbalized that she believed he was here for a specific reason, she would be correct. This time at least. But with the way she talked he could see a social visit sometime. Maybe.
"I wished to continue our practical application of abilities. The target practice. I believe it will benefit us to continue while we discuss tactics and battle philosophy so that we may synergize better in the future."
He was under no illusions about what Cabal was and what it meant. They would go into battle, they would be expected to fight. And when they did, he intended to win, and win while making it look easy. He had superiors to impress.

It was a mouthful for a practical purpose. She knew Preston to be a stickler for it, but also someone with a keen eye. With no plans for the morning other than attending classes later, she certainly had the time and interest. Not to mention that she was curious to see how else they could provide support and the like with one another. It was one thing to work well with a member of your crew, and another entirely to understand how they would likely work in an actual combat situation where tensions rose.
"Alright, let's go." She shut the door behind her as she slid through the doorway, no sound made with the motion as she turned to look at him. It still felt odd that he was the same height as her.
"Was there anything particular you had in mind to start?"

"Excellent." Rozalin would lead the way to the training field where they'd recently met, setting up the machine to launch the targets when ready. Rolling her shoulders, she unleashed a gust of wind, striking the target with expected proficiency. "You strike me as the kind to get all the facts before going into a fray." Zero Ability: Ominous Winds – Rozalin is able to summon forth winds strong enough to berate her opponent and those in melee range. Damage is equal to 1/4 her ENG stat with a small knock-back effect.

Once they were at the target range he'd produce his book once more. Placing his hand on it as a focus as he pulled in energy from the surrounding area and used his soul to convert it to holy energy. The power rippling off of him in waves blowing the grass as the area directly under him lit up with a brilliant light. "Kiron Rot"! He'd exclaim as the energy went from him to his partner to rejuvenate her as they had done before. "It's impossible to have all of the facts prior to a fray. And once the battle starts such things are inaccurate. What I wish to know is how you think and what I can expect from you. When do you push in, when do you fall back? Where your blind spots are, and what you hone in on. I need to figure out how I would defeat you so that I can cover your weaknesses." That was his job as a support. 0 Level - Rejuvenation - Holy Element - Support Archetype - Preston is able to infuse another with his Qi energy granting them another use of their Qi (Granted Qi abilities do not grant UP on use)

So he was one that would not be stuck in preparation the entire time. Rozalin nodded once with a sound of approval at his words. He preferred strategy, but not to the point of being immobile. She'd seen men try to read the skies and waters for storms and fail, so caught up that they missed the chance to do what was needed and would get swept away with the raging tides. "Let's start with the simpler parts, then." Another pigeon was launched. She waited a moment, then launched another attack at it before continuing. "The obvious blind spot would be to my right, especially from the flank. But it's not so vulnerable as you might think; I've let others make the mistake of assuming that. I'm used to close quarters fighting more than ranged." Seeing as how quite a bit of it was on a boat or the coast. It seemed to be time to address the elephant in the room before she went any further. "Hey, I am not an elephant, you sea cow!" Ari all but screeched in outrage, causing her skull to vibrate from the inside. She sucked in a deep breath and winced. "Ari, would you kindly shut up? If I could remove you and use you for a target right now, I would!" The thought silenced her permanent partner enough to let her focus. Scowling for a moment, she ran a hand through her hair before remembering it was pulled back, instead letting her fingers work through the curls. "That being said, my power isn't what most call typical, I suppose. My abilities come from my eyepatch. It can shift, and yes, it can talk and get angry. So he helps cover my blind spots, but there are no guarantees. More importantly, I can't be separated from him. If I do, we both die. If I am in danger of that, I will back out or need assistance if I can't make my way clear." Though he hadn't intended it to come off as him just throwing questions at her, he had just been trying to explain what he was looking for. He was surprised that she took the blind spot question so literally. He had assumed the eyepatch would cause a blind spot. That was basic logic, but it was good to know she could adapt. "So you have a symbiote?" Rare... and creepy. A moment of renewal washed over her with the magic, again leaving Rozalin to feel once again like she'd just started. There would surely be more practical applications and studies; she coudln't just list of how she did things like a list of skills or a grocery list. But the important part, he did need to know about, and not just why she might have the obvious blind spot. Glancing over at Preston, Rozalin raised a brow, pausing a moment before answering. "I don't typically advertise it, but yes." She fired off another pigeon and shot it down in a rapid strike before turning her attention back to him. "Do I detect a note of interest, Mr. Salabim?" shed asked with a small lilt in her voice. Zero Ability: Ominous Winds – Rozalin is able to summon forth winds strong enough to berate her opponent and those in melee range. Damage is equal to 1/4 her ENG stat with a small knock-back effect.

The holy energy continued to spread and dance across his fingers and being as it continued to funnel into Roz, sustaining her and allowing her to continue without pressure for the time being while they chatted about this new development.
"Somewhat. They are quite rare... And new. There is a theory about them that I'm quite fond of, that they are items infected with Qi in the same manner as Qi Beasts. Unfortunately, we don't know what happened with Qi beasts, let alone these new symbiotes. I'm not even sure how I would go about experimenting and testing it... yet."

This time Rozalin would fire off two targets at once, using the wind to strike them both with the same blow. "It's an interesting theory." He had more information than she did on the matter; until it happened, there had been none on her part. Even Ari didn't talk about itself much, though it had been made clear from teh beginning there was no removing it. It wasn't like she'd been able to object at the time, though it had been tempting to find out. "Dude, he's creepy. Keep him away from me." The eye patch actually sounded worried; Roz could have sworn she almost felt it shudder. "And now you understand my concern," she answered aloud as she eyed her partner. "I'm sure there are many who feel the same way you do." The new was curious, regardless of who or what it was. She did agree with Ari however; depending on the experiment, she'd pass. If Preston didn't seem the type to notice the little details, she'd not have said anything, already feeling wariness wash over her with his "yet." She couldn't say she expected less. He, however, wouldn't comment on it and would instead focus on channeling more power to her. They did not need to see everything eye to eye, and as it was a part of her, he would keep his scientific curiosity respectful. But if she died it would give him a unique opportunity. "Kiron Rot"! He'd nod at her. "Doubtless. Though symbiotes are not my main area of expertise or interest. If there is updated information on them, I am not aware of it. But, to jump topics. I would like you to walk me through a typical combat encounter for you.
