Her glare was perhaps...half-hearted at best. Obviously she was tired of it, and focusing on beating herself up over personal guilt wasn't helping.
"There are different levels of pain. What you and Kyrie went through...I don't know if I could handle it. And I'm sorry I couldn't do anything."

He sighed.
"I don't like cages, even gilded ones. And though I'm not fully....recovered, I'm still driven nuts being in this place. It's why I was hoping to fly. Walking to halls just makes me....itch."
His mood seemed dimmed.
"But every peace has it's necessary sacrifices."

They exited the school to find an SUV waiting there for them. He'd pull out the keys and hop inside, waiting for her before taking off.
"What, exactly, do you intend to do? Get pier 14 shut down?"

Arianna slid in and buckled up before glancing across to David.
“...I don’t think I’d go that far, but, I suppose it also depends. I realize there are some inmates that would require being physically subdued or having alternate methods to control them... but even if that’s the case there’s still a matter of medical attention being necessary. If they’re neglecting their prisoners...things need to change.”

"Fair. Good help is hard to come by, however. Especially in this world. Even the warden rotates out often. Just day before yesterday, Harry Triweek- the one you'd mentioned- took over."
He sighed.
"I hope he's level headed than you led me to believe...."

He slowed the car, glancing over at her.
"No....what's wrong?" He glanced at the rearview mirror.
"I know you said you were worried about some actions he took but....was he really that bad?"

She also couldn’t be sure that it wasn’t not just that incident, either.

David's hands tightened slightly on the wheel.
"I see."
He took a turn, heading down the gravel road toward pier 14. They'd arrive, David parking. As he got out he asked-
"Anyone here you actually liked?"

Otherwise, she thought back to her experience in Pier Fourteen otherwise. The guards she interacted with signing in and getting access, as well on the way out again.

David would reach the front gate and step up.
"Could you please take us to the prisoner visitation room, before we go see the warden?"
The gaurd seemed surprised, but nodded. He'd lead them there, and once there he'd clasp his hands behind his back and speak to Arianna.
"She here?"
