The art of walking was one that not many people understood nor appreciated. It was something you had to do as if it would be a journey you would never return from. It wasn't walking to go anywhere, the kind that most people were used to, but walking to just lose yourself in the chaos of nature and man made concrete and steel. The trudging rhythm of it echoed the pace of one's very soul. Plop..plop...plop... A dull burning sensation that developed in your muscles was one to be thankful for. The taste and scent of the wind mixed with gasoline and other such things was something that grew on you, if you were a walker.
In unfamiliarity there is excitement. What kind of terrain will you walk upon here or there? What will it feel like? Who will be there? What will happen? Those weren't questions that needed to be asked, rather ones that naturally compelled themselves to be answered. Too often people attempted to set a goal and achieve it but forget to enjoy the ride, or walk. That was what separated the walker from everyone else. A special breed who drifted across the city, haunting it's alleyways and desolate fields, what few that remained. One particular walker was on his way down a bustling, overcrowded road that led to who-knows-where when his path crossed that of another.
"Hmmm...hmmm...hmm...hmm hmm...hmm," the dark haired boy hummed as his white sneakers scrapped along the filthy ground. The sound of so many cars can be distracting, but he had grown numb to it, just another component of civilization. The only things that really concerned him at the time were the path stretching out before him and the melody of a song almost forgotten fluttering across his consciousness. The usual background noise of mundane, routine life was accepted and overlooked, more subtle things being magnified. That was until he was interrupted...

When one devotes himself to something, he becomes addicted. In some ways, it was a good thing, in others, horrible. It all depended on what it was. To Sevren, the only real addiction he felt he had, was to adrenaline. He believed he needed it. He needed his share of it daily. An adrenaline junkie by heart, he loved getting his heart pumping and his blood flowing. Today was no different then any other. It would start the same, and end the same. The only real differences were the small things that happened. Like meeting someone new, doing something out of the ordinary.
Life to Sevren was quite boring, if left up to everyone else. He himself chose a path which kept him on his toes constantly. Life in the fast lane. He did what he wanted, when he wanted, wherever he wanted. He didn't care for the consequences. He didn't care to follow the rules. After all, there was that saying.. 'Rules we're meant to be broken' And quite often, he loved to live by that rule.
At this time, he wasn't walking. No, he rarely walked. He ran. He loved to run. And as some might enjoy the scenery and experience their surroundings when walking, one could do the same running. Though things looked different, and it was too Sevren's liking. He loved to feel the wind in his hair, to hear that constant thud of his feet pounding the pavement, or whatever surface he might be running on. And as he ran, he would meet someone. Someone he had never met before. And that first meeting wouldn't be under the best circumstances.
Rounding a corner at a very quick pace, Sevren hopped over a trashcan, and thats when he noticed the other boy. There was no way to warn him in time, he would most-likely slam into him, his left knee extended slightly as he had hoped the trashcan in such a manor. What happened next was up to the boy, though he doubted he would be expecting Sevren's accidental attack.

Under any normal circumstances, Aureus would have heard the boy coming from a mile away, but incessant traffic dulled his senses and he had no idea what was about to happen. One moment he was humming a song, the next a random knee was slamming into his side, forcing him to the ground.
Jostled and confused, the boy looked over at the one responsible. "What the hell are you doing?" He asked dully as he got to his feet, slightly annoyed at the interruption. The knee had hit him right where a giant bruise was from two days previous, and the pain was sharp.

The knee connected, though it had been completely accidental. He could tell the boy was annoyed, or pissed off already, just by the words that spat from his lips relatively quickly. Sevren's smirk reappeared on his lips as he stared toward the boy as he got to his feet. His arms crossing slightly as he stepped back a bit. Gazing at him, he seemed slightly familiar, though he couldn't quite place his finger. In the end, he shrugged it off. And it was time to decide what to do. To avoid the fight? Or to have some fun. After all... Addiction was calling. His heart yearned for the adrenaline he so desperately lived upon.
"Well.. I happened to be running.. And you just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time? Maybe you should be more.. mindful of your surroundings.. Maybe if you had been paying attention, you wouldn't have gotten hit!"
His words came out, and he was sure they made him sound like an asshole. But that was probably what he wanted. It would probably get the desired effect that he was looking for. Obviously, he was putting himself in danger here, but picking a fight with a complete stranger. But he didn't care. He never cared.

All the Pillar could do after hearing the boy's explanation was laugh. "Haha, yes I suppose that's true. I tend to zone out when I walk, and you're pretty slow so any other time it would have been easy to avoid," Aureus replied warm heartedly, getting a good vibe from the boy he was talking to. There was just some energy about him. A bit like his own, but more...intense. Levi would have gotten along with him, that's for sure.
"So, do you mind at least introducing yourself after kneeing me in the side like that?" He asked with a smirk, suddenly in the mood for a bit of conversation. Every now and then it was nice having a companion on your walks.

Whatever the boy had intended to do with the first set of words which had slipped from his lips, wouldn't hit Sevren hard. He simply shrugged them off. He rarely took other peoples words to heart, knowing that most people only said things to take someone off-balance, or make them lash out. Sevren would only continue to stare toward the boy, eyes locked upon his form. Arms still crossed as he took a few more steps backwards, and to the side, so that he might rest against a brick wall.
So, do you mind at least introducing yourself after kneeing me in the side like that?
"I guess it won't hurt. Sevren Destry is my name. What about you? Care to share yours?"

"Sevren Destry..." Aureus repeated as if he was mulling over the words. "Interesting name," He continued before considering the boy's question. "Aureus Hayes," the teen said simply, extending his hand for a shake. Regardless of whether or not the gesture was returned, the schizo would speak once more. "So, what brings you here this nice day? Just a run?" He asked, sure that Sevren wasn't in a hurry, otherwise he wouldn't have obliged the small talk.
