Oh god.
The world seemed to fall in slow motion as his skull caved like pudding; Bailey barely felt the sting of the blade in her side as she stared in wide-eyed horror. This was what she had agreed to train for, but this was not what she thought she would achieve. She'd fought not to attack him, until the end. It would have just made him stronger, but she had also hoped for a way to do so without so much damage.
Then she felt the warmth and discomfort, then sharp pain as the depth of her own wound sunk in, her blood spilling down her side and onto the ground as she fell to her knees, one hand on her side as if she could stop the wound from being as bad as it was. Her eyes remained on the man in front of her, not understanding why a girl with flowers to honor the fallen would shove them in his mouth - or hers. That woke her up enough for her to gag and choke, but she swallowed them down since they were forced down her throat. Just as well, as all damages were healed and the man before her was brought back to life. An old man once more, but alive and still delighted.
She let out a small laugh and nodded, giving the man a small awkward bow.
"Thank you for a good fight. You definitely had me on my toes." She would offer to help the old man up, still breathless from the fight and the realization that she'd won.
