You Mentioned... [David/Open]

[Kyrie Blaze]

David’s airborne whisper would find Kyrie outside, obviously meditating in the training fields. She was half-in, half-out of the leafy shadows, and cracked an eye several long minutes after.

A few minutes later would see her stride into his office, unobtrusive as was still her way, but not hiding, either.

“Yes..?”

[David B.]

"Hey."

He was sitting at the desk, but would stand and walk around it to give her a hug as she came in, David smiling.

"Thanks for coming so quick. I asked Arianna to come with me to Dragonhearth.....to get Damien out."

[Kyrie Blaze]

The hug was returned and Kyrie rested quietly a moment. And when he pulled back, she straightened, taking the news with an owlish blink.

“Okay.” A half-beat. “And..?”

[David B.]

"We want you to go."

Obviously.

He smiled. "If you want to, I mean."

[Kyrie Blaze]

”Okay. But,” she tipped her head. “Have they had time to fix whatever was wrong with Damien, from the incident?”

A brow lifted.

[David B.]

He'd shrug.

"No idea, and I don't really care. I'll take him to my old safehouse and fix him myself."

She knew the one he was referencing.

[Kyrie Blaze]

She hummed softly.

“I am assuming you will be gone for some time, if that happens to be the case.”

Long or short was anyone’s guess.

[David B.]

He think a moment.

"Few days, i think."

[Kyrie Blaze]

”That is fair. So what did you happen to say to Arianna that she is going?”

Her voice was coloured with simple curiosity.

[David B.]

He frowned.

"I am not used to interacting with her. I think...I offended her, or upset her in some way, when i thought i was just telling her the truth of the situation."

[Kyrie Blaze]

”That is probably the case; dealing with Arianna is different than dealing with me, too, at the heart of it all.” An eyebrow lifted higher and there was a slight, upward quirk of her lips. “What did you say..?”

He didn’t really say, in answer.

[David B.]

He hadn't really wanted to go into it, knowing she'd likely berate him too but...

"Just the truth. That i would do whatever it takes to get my brother out, but that I wanted her to try first to prevent what i might be forced to do." He chewed his bottom lip.

"She watched me....kill people today. I didn't think about her seeing that and...it was like old war me. I don't think she was ready to see it."

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie watched quietly, curiously, but still..without judgement.

“She probably was not,” She agreed with a thoughtful nod.

[David B.]

He nodded.

"Yeah....All these memories and this remembered strength....it's hard for me to hold back."

He sighed.

[Kyrie Blaze]

"But you know they are no longer together, yes?"

Kyrie leaned a hip against the edge of his desk, watching him placidly, her expression neutral.
