Preston had arranged for a light spar with some of the other members of Cabal.  Unfortunately, it seemed most of the official squads were tied up, so they would be matched up against a pair that was not part of a Squad.  A point for his team on unity he imagined, but he'd seen more than one person at Cabal pull the weight of far more than two.  So he'd not count out either person.

As it was, he'd simply be waiting for everyone to arrive at the field of battle.

Rozalin arrived with her usual flair, walking onto the training grounds like she was made for it, standard Cabal sword at the waist.

"Imagine seeing you here," she drawled with a grin.

Clearing his sword in his scabbard, John threw his head back as the flask pressed against his lips. He chugged deeply, the booze flowing into him- the sweet nectar of the gods. His cheeks were a little flush, but he seemed to be standing steady, the two before him being those who called him out. He didn't wait for his partner, tucking the flask away and drawing his sword.

"Shall we?"

Truth be told, he was unaware he even had a partner. All he knew was....they wanted to fight. He would sprint forward, slashing down with his sword at Rozs' left shoulder. He'd spin off the hit (whether she blocked or not) and rush Preston, intent to hit him in the midsection with his sword as well. He kept his awareness on all sides- the woman was bound to come after him, no?

Avice got the message but it was interesting that she'd arrive and see the other who she'd met attention the bar and it made more sense.

"Oi good to see ya." she'd speek to Rozalin and nodding with a slight grin. "So trainin' aye? I need more practice swingin' a blade so I'm happy to oblige."

Unfortunately, there seemed to be little time for pleasantries as the man was attacking before everyone had even assembled. He'd take a step back, mustering up his mana to the Earth Element as the man rushed forward to Roz!

"Ushesh"!

He bellowed out, the earth rumbling underfoot before it would snap upwards to try and encase John and imprison him!

Gaol - Earth Element - Support Archetype - The Earth under his target's feet shifts and snaps upward to imprison them in stone. The prison may be destroyed by dealing twice his energy stat in damage to it. (Does not require it to be in a single post or single source. Stone prison may only be struck twice per post for an attempted break out or in.

Recalculating.

As the ground rumbled under him, John leapt left, planting his free left hand on the ground to flip his body off to the side. He'd been training to fight those who controlled elements- but he didn't count on fighting people with powers like this just yet. As he leapt, the prison snapped shut and John was inside a stone cell.

Bringing up his sword, he poked the inside of the wall. Reaching inside his jacket, he took out his flask and kept drinking- smart to trap him until they could deal with his partner who had just shown up. He cracked his neck and swung two times at the wall rapidly, carving his blade into it harshly.

The small talk would have to wait, it seemed; the new guy wanted to play. Drawing her blade, Rozalin prepared to knock the man before her back. Instead, she smirked as a familiar stone goal encased one of their opponents within its confines. She was getting used to her partner's tactics, though she still had to guess sometimes which one he was going to use first.

"Thanks, partner." Nodding once at Avice, Rozalin continued, "Well then, let's get some of that practice in before your partner has all the fun."

Without further comment, she would throw windcutter attack at her, tessting to see how well she could stay on her feet - plural now - before rushing her.

Zero Ability: Ominous Winds – Rozalin is able to summon forth winds strong enough to berate her opponent and those in melee range. Damage is equal to 1/4 her ENG stat added to her ATK with a small knock-back effect.

"Oi! He not me partner lass." Avice dodged with a click from her watch she'd speed up and dip to dodge the blade and come up with a bright lazer erupting from the crystal in her metal arm slicing up her center.

Kyber Crystal: +4 ENG
The Kyber Crystal focuses and concentrates energy from the user. Turning a weapons damage into Qi or Energy based elemental damage. The Kyber Crystal is activated and lasts four posts. It's color changes depending on the person using it.

Leaping forward, He slashed again. And again, the second time his sword glowing. The wall was starting to crack, but it still made him scowl.

"Fucking earth benders..."

Cero: John can cause his sword to glow, empowering it with his energy and doing his energy in damage on top of his attack.

He was surprised to see that Avice was not helping her partner for the fight. Instead of opting to fight them on her own while he remained trapped. Far be it from him to give tactical advice to someone he is facing. At least until the battle is over. He'd just keep focusing on his own Partner and making sure that she was safe and secure.

His elemental attunement would switch to Water as he brought his hands up again to channel it at Roz.

"At rek Arel"!

And with his words a shield of water would appear in front of Roz to protect her from attacks!  It looked like the fight was starting.

Water Shield - Water Element - Support Archetype - Preston summons a disk of water that circles it's target and persists for the thread or until it absorbs an attack. The disk can absorb up to Preston's Energy in damage.

When Preston enters battle a field of 20ft appears around him as a Qi scar doing damage over time based on his Energy stat. Lasts 5 turns

The water shield was her favorite. Roz's grin turned sharp as she laughed.

"Enjoying yourself, lass?" The girl had gotten faster. Rozalin wondered how long she could keep it up, toying with one of her own qi uses for now as they danced, the sound of the other man's sword ringing against the rock.

"Tell you what. You win this, and drinks will be on me next time."

Roz's physical attacks are treated as ice type. Increasing the amount of physical dmg the target takes by +3 to a Max of 9.

Roz is able to charm opponents regardless of sexual orientation lowering the amount of damage they can do to her by -10.

Avice smiled. "Aye, that be fun." Rozalin's next sword move knocked Avice's arm aside and she'd leap back. "Maybe trade that for a few blade dance moves aye?" Avice refered to Roz teaching a bit of sword play to her.

Avice saw the wave of Qi that spreads the ground and she was instantly airborn. Cloak unfolding from under her curls she gtfo out of that. While that remained a challenge the air might still be a problem she might need to end this quickly realizing this was intense and serious training. She hovered not but a few inches above ground amd can already feel the infected area burn the air and herself. It wasnt enough to stay off ground it seemed.

His sword stayed glowing, and he smashed the wall twice more, finally busting out with a little sweat on his brow. Rocks and dust erupted around him from it so he used that to his advantage, rushing Preston once more to try and palm his head, lift him up and smash it into the ground.

He'd smirk and adjust his glasses when the man finally broke out of his prison. He was right, attacking him would be the smart thing to do from a tactics standpoint. Though he wasn't as helpless as he used to be. The gloves on his hands crackled to life as energy surged through him. The storm of raging magic above his head intensifying as he channeled his mana once more.

"At rek Arel"!

The disk of water would appear in front of him to connect with the attack that John launched at him while he took a step back to try and keep some distance between them. Though it wouldn't be much.

"Ah ah ah." Rozalin would pivot on one heel, drawing her blade in an arc towards John to knock him off balance with a wind gust as he went for Preston. Not a bad move on his part, but at this point, she knew which of them was the shinier target. At least, most of the time.

Blue veins sprawled up her legs as the water from Preston's shield soaked her skin. "Try agin, darlin'."

Feet: Acionna's Infusion: (+2 Attack, +2 Energy) - These shoes seem to be imbued with the power of the sea. When utilizing water abilities, or when fighting in the rain/doused with water, she gains a +5 boost to Speed and Defense. This remains for the thread. Once activated, blue veins of energy crawl up her legs, terminating just above the knees.
