He would cock a brow.
"I'll have to...pull it apart to find what he left. If you don't want me to, of course you can have it back but...I rather like my face the way it is, so."
He'd offer it to her with a small smile, unless she gave him the go ahead.

Another deep breath before Tina finally nodded.
"Just do it already." She looked away, watching out of the corner of her eye.

David pulled the crystal apart, the thing shattering as David pulled on both ends. There was a center piece, however, that started shimmering, and a skull crystal ring perfectly fitted for Tina's left index finger hovered where David had pulled, and there was writing etched inside. ' Princess Badaass, Sprite Friend'. David offered her the ring, using air to keep it floating over to her. "Guess he used his soul energy to make this before he passed, otherwise he couldn't have gotten metal from that. I'll not touch it, since it fuses with the person who touches it first but...there it is." The rest of the crystal was in pieces as fine as sand, but he'd still put in on the tray for her. OOC: Item reward claimed! Leyaks Farewell: +1 to all stats - This ring notes Tina as a friend to all Qi Sprites, and she gains incredible favor with any she encounters who are either Chaotic neutral or better. This ring fuses permanently with the first person to touch it once outside it's crystal housing. * upgradeable* Ability: Once per thread, Tina may call in a shadow beast in the same form as Leyak, named 'Kayel'. This beast has empty eyes, and follows her commands. It's stats are equal to her energy, and lasts for 4 posts.

Tina turned to watch fully as the crystal cracked, her attention now completely on the mystery of what it might reveal from her friend. Inside was a ring that made her smile that turned into her more normal grin as she saw the writing inside. It was totally something Leyak would do.
She reached out to touch the ring as he lifted it towards her, unable to resist the urge to reach out and grab it despite the pain as soon as it was in reach, her fingers instantly trying to grasp it. For a few moments, she stared at it, admiring it with that same half grin before looking back at David and taking another deep breath, cheeks puffing out with the urge to bite back her words until she coudln't hold it in anymore, letting the air escape.
"Thank you."

David gave a small smile, tucking a mental video in the back of his head of this proud little warrior thanking him for something. He'd nod, and put a hand on her back to give a gentle rub before standing.
"You're welcome, Princess Badass."
He gave a little wink and started out the door.

Tina lifted her chin like an imperial queen at the title, nodding as David started to leave. She wasn't certain how she felt about someone else calling her that, like someone else was in on a private secret. Only it was less private now since she wore the ring. She let David go without a word, not needing him to keep the little moment between them. He knew. Or had better, since apparently he helped run the place. Personally, she would never speak of it again.
"And what do I owe you for thiss?"

David paused, turning back. His hands went into his pocket.
"....owe me?"
He shook his head.
"I'm not your father, Tina. Nor am I someone holding this secret plan to use you or anyone else for gain. It might be hard for you to believe, but I'm just not built that way. You owe me nothing. You have my word on that."
He'd stare for a few seconds, to see if she had a follow up. If not, he'd leave as planned.

In other words, he hadn't decided yet. No one did things out of the goodness out of their heart. If they did, they were trying to trick you. Or just flat out lying. The world just didn't work that way. Those who actually tried that were normally either a dried husk or paste on the ground before they could blink.
"You really don't like him, huh? Not just 'cuz of the battle." It wasn't the first time he'd pointed out that he wasn't her father. David was an 'everyone else' - and they all followed that rule, too.

"I don't like people that make others think everyone is like what you're thinking I'm like, right now."
He stared.

STARING CONTEST!
Tina stared at David for a moment before letting out a quiet scoff.
"Don't go to Territory One, then."

He smirked.
"Oh, I will go there. If only to rip down everything Punk has fashioned for himself." He folded his arms and leaned against the doors. "Someone like him....doesn't deserve people to rule. Or kids like you. He deserves to have everything he covets taken away, so he can either die a nameless shell or scurry back to the slimy little holes he comes from."
He cocked a brow.
"So I guess no, I really don't like him."

Promises, promises, promises. It looks like Tina would have to see if David would - could - do as he said. The defenses around her home were tricky, and more than one person had been nothing but blood and sand on the wind trying something stupid.
At the mention of kids like her, she blinked, certain she'd heard wrong. He knew she had over two dozen siblings, right? That a lot of them were like her? Right?
Then the moment was gone, and she grinned with a nod.
"You got spunk, kid. I approve."

He laughed, then pointed.
"I think that's my line. Rest up- and when you're ready, we'll have work to do."
He turned and left.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be out of here before you know it." Ready and willing to take the next step. She let him go without further comment, rolling her eyes and shaking her head with a sigh.
He was totally gonna die.
