"Sixty Three."

He'd stare back!

"Why?"

Bailey waited, as well.

Suspenseful staring is suspenseful!

Barker would nervously scratch his cheek a bit before responding.

"Then I can do something for your people. Though I would need access to the territory itself so that I can correct the issue."

[Blake Oleander]

"Specifics."

He almost growled. This was getting uncomfortably close to home. Literally.

[Bailey Oleander]

The idea of seeing Barker nervous had her curious; this was the dangerous territory she had expected to come up sooner or later, though what it was exactly, she coudln't say. Interesting, though, that he had to be at the territory itself to correct whatever the 'issue' was.

[Sean Barker]

"I want to say twenty two, twenty three years ago I had an underground facility in that area. It specialized in mixing my artificial qi drugs and organic matter together to create my experiment army from scratch, without having to kidnap people or raise generations of them, or find lunatic volunteers."

Mitsoumi would speak up.

"I take offense to that. I wasn't kidnapped."

Barker would chuckle.

"Problem being during the war the lab caved in, practically destroyed... However all the tech kept going, producing and building, adding the artificial qi to the organic substances it could come in contact with... Specifically the ground under your feet."

[Blake Oleander]

"And that did what to the land? Gave it sentience? The ability to weigh souls?"

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey's lips twitch in what was almost a smile at Mitsoumi's comment. It did mean, however, that one of Barker's facilities was nearby and underground, which had her attention again. She wondered what had been done to keep the place evolving, to make it so that, like Blake said, those were born at birth with powers. Genetic factors, proximity...

She stopped the thought before she got ahead of herself, instead having her free hand cross her chest to her other arm rather than fold them behind her back.

[Sean Barker]

"As with most of my experiments there was a level of dna adjustments so that the subjects could be controlled against their will if necessary. It's possible that kind of DNA factor rewrote the dna of the land, and made it sentient. Gave it... Opinions and emotions. To be fair those experiments were rather theoretical and new at the time."

[Blake Oleander]

"And what do you plan to do?"

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey's eyes narrowed at the mention of the controlled experiments, knowing first hand what that looked like thanks to a certain someone who was digging away in the background. It sounded like things had worked out differently for 63, however.

So how did one just cancel or rewrite that in an entire land?

[Sean Barker]

"Well samples first. I'd need to find the strain, the leak, the Qi itself, and then counter it. If not figure out a way to dominate it into self destruction and get rid of it for good."

Barker assumed that would be something they wanted, all these good types and Cabal kids wanted to stop Barkers plots and plans... The Demon as it were.

[Blake Oleander]

He shook his head.

"If you want to help me understand it and how it can change in the future I will accept the information in exchange for you gaining the same information. But I will not destroy the gift of my home, nor allow it to be destroyed."

His hand unconsciously moved closer to his blade.

"I seek the means to protect my home and people. That is what I want in exchange for information on the Golden Fleece."

[Sean Barker]

"Hm... Then there is something else I can offer... My Qi is capable of taking a Qi ability, copying it and adding it to an inanimate object... I could take the power of the land and give it to you. That way you can decide who is deserving. It would not change the lands ability to pass it to people, but would give you say as well."

[Blake Oleander]

"I accept."

He'd refrain from shaking on it however given Barker's Qi.

"You are looking to get the Fleece from Asiv's vault. Correct?"
