“Lost control of what?” Bailey’s lips pursed, but she didn’t move. What the records her mother had passed on advised that her father should have been the generation that was skipped. Hers was supposed to be the first in the next round of three.
She briefly thought back to her uncle, the age gap between them. The video of a figure with no clear face. It could be that part of it was wrong, or maybe it wasn’t. Maybe it was something else entirely.
That particular thought was even less pleasant.

“What’s…?” It didn’t strike any memories or sound similar to Bailey that she could remember off hand. The small blonde felt half a dozen other questions spring forth, begging to be asked, starting with what the Summer Crystal was. Or who, maybe. Why it was significant and what losing control of it meant. The leader of a territory right next to where she lived, not to mention her employer. Leader of the academy that had changed her life.
It had nothing to do with her current problem with the chaos, which was the moment of worry that had prompted her to keep asking. Power she didn’t have control of. Asking for more would give her information, but what would she do if she couldn’t keep herself under control? Run a risk that could make things worse? Turn into a pretty little pancake, or smear on the ground? She could feel the laughter bubble up in her throat and start to escape, a muffled sound before she caught it.
Besides, even Virgil’s answers would be fact alone. They couldn't give the confrontation she needed, nor would it ease the knot in her chest. She hadn't thought she wanted to have anything to do with her father, and part of her still didn't, but here she was, asking questions about him while several territories away. If he was even still in 244. She still didn’t know how or if she should tell her family. He was focused on other things, and they had their own lives.
“Nevermind. Thank you, both of you." She closed her eyes with a soft sigh.
“I have no more questions."

Virgil's face would actually drop to a frown at that question.
"The Summer Crystal is being moved to Mount Arvon, obtaining it would make Aurora stronger, but would attract the attention of the man with Gold Eyes."
