She looked back at the well for a moment, not letting go of him as she took a moment to let her mind settle. Despite the decay and being so far from the city, it stood a much higher regard in her mind now. Not only that, but the past few weeks had come to mind, and everything that came with it.

The content she felt shifted to hesitation, and Bailey did the same as she tried to find the words she wanted as one thought in particular came to mind. How much more change would be okay before that smile left his face? What would he think, or want? So much had already changed for both of them; it was as new and unknown as Aurora and it’s future.

The future. Bailey looked down for a moment, taking a deep breath before her gaze went back to Blake, focusing on his expression and reaction as she felt her nerves get the better of her and her stomach began to knot.

“There’s something else that would never have happened without this well.”
