When had that happened?

"Seriously?" She stared.

"I couldn't help it."

He smirked.

Her irritation turned to shock as her eyes widened in surprise. That had been humid she’s heard from him, right?

“I see.” She chuckled in spite of herself with a dry smile. “Well, even if you could sprout another pair again, it doesn’t change the fact there’s been no one else.”

He just grinned and leaned in to capture her lips in a kiss. That was all the reply he felt he needed.

Her arms wrapped around him and pulled him close as he leaned in, returning the kiss with fervor, light-headed and giddy with relief at his response. She had worried it might have lead to him shutting down with everything else going on, but instead, it was positive.

As it was, she all but melted with the relief at his response.

He was content to let it stand at that and kiss her until one of them grew tired. Because he was going to be a Dad. Something he'd wanted, but had all but given up on when he was exiled. Of all the things to come from this well, that was the best.

It would last for a while, Bailey letting go and adjusting herself afterward with a hitn of the blush still showing a little on her cheeks. She just looked at him for a moment, realizing she'd just told the king of her home, not just her partner, he was about to be a father. And she was about to be a mother. Something she wouldn't think hapened until she had graduated and gone back home from Cabal, though that wasn't how things were now, either.

"So...surprise?"

[Blake Oleander]

"The best kind." He'd say, still holding her hips and leaning in to kiss the top of her forehead.
