A Fish Out of Water (Open)

[Triton Augustus]

The stone ground was hot; the strange rock, one Triton had never seen before, was oddly quite light and held the shape of a large square. Could it be possible the mainland dwellers laid it? It was similar in appearance to that of their stone structures, so that was likely. Truly, he did not much care for it as a surface to walk upon. But nonetheless, he did not allow it to tarnish his relief and marvel.

After many days and nights, he had finally arrived at the academy of which many knew. His soul and body were relieved and proud; swimming up the coast of the territories cycle after cycle was a dampen on his spirit. However, there he stood, ready to face what man held in store.

Sharing his soul with relief was his wonder; the mainland dweller's culture fascinated him. He did not appreciate their lack of care for the water and the creatures that considered it home, but many were simply ignorant and thus deserved some grace. They had accomplished many great things, and for that they deserved to be given heed. 

He stood there, his blue-scaled torso glistening in the sun due to his lack of covering, and his blue scaled feet uncomfortably warm due to his lack of footwear. All that adorned his body were a pair of pants of short length, sewn to remain against his skin in order for swift swimming. His red eyes danced around, gazing with fascination upon the students that passed him. Though, there was a minor problem.

He knew not of what he must do now that he was there.

Atlas saw this man, standing with 'bare feet' on the hot scorching ground in the sun!?
Slamming his hands on the cart bottom, having the large green hoove (https://prnt.sc/kfxrhd from territory 'home/homestead') stop as grass was starting to grow around the hooves that decorated his feet.
Slowly spreading outwards and ruining the nice tiles that were laid out before, having taken a soft ride around to make sure that he could map the area, mapping everything before then seeing this man... With his bare feet probably burning away!?

"Hey! Hey hey hey! Get your muffin scorched feet off the ground! Get on this cart and i will give you a soft round trip around this city, but above all, i can check if i have some clothes prepared in the back from what i traded in the city.
Seriously! How can you be this reckless with yourself! There are atleast two people in every world who care about you and your health, so do not make them worry okay?"

Before reaching out his hand to let the man, or creature step onto the cart and help him to a cooled bottle of fruit juice, strawberry, melon and peach.
Even offering a dried fruitbar made out of cereals and fruits, with a sweet flavour.

"Old food recipe, so i hope you will enjoy that, okay?"

Triton was perplexed by the old man, though he was marveled by the creature. "Though your kindness delights me, I have no need for food or drink or clothing. However, I am quite curious, what is this beast?" Triton asked, taking slow and cautious steps around the behemoth in observance. He did not face the man as he spoke.

This was quite different from the animals which he knew from the farm. It was much greater in size and mystical in appearance. The thorned antlers gave it a look of malice, yet the grass that followed it, through some sort of sorcery, calmed the soul; it was a great contrast in ambience. "Is it harmful?"

Atlas would be sitting in the cart, seeing this man be amazed by this creature that was standing proudly, yet with him hearing the words and starting to learn about this accent that came from it.
Trying to memorise the voices of the people he met, he would simply continue with his observation and give this person something to work with too.

"Peculiar that you require no food or drink, makes me wonder what you do sustain upon as i shift this topic into a different path.
The beast that you are gazing upon is a Qi Beast, it is known as a Green hoove, a beast that can easily spend hours in it's life eating some trees empty of their leaves before strolling around, revitalizing the land.
If it wasn't for these beasts, farming would have been much more difficult back when the war was still starting to die down."

Sharing all this information, Atlas would then repeat softly to the man, audible of course, but it wasn't too loud, with a tinge of sorrow and worry.

"Are you sure your feet can handle the ground bare?"

Triton reached out a hand to touch the Green hoove, as the man claimed it was known. His curiosity for it had not faded, and he would stroke the beast as he continued the discourse: "I do not wish for your food merely because mainland dweller's food and its covering often does not bode well for my animal friends, such as this one. I have no need of your drink because I sustain my body's thirst well."

Triton paused, and took a small step back as the man presented his last question. "I am quite sure; my feet have tread upon hot sand and, though not purposefully, sharp coral in the past. This warm stone does not bother me." As he said all of this his voice was clear but not loud; purposeful, but not bold; soft, but not hushed. "Now tell me, stranger, from where have you come? Are you a teacher at this institute?" He inquired such due to the man's appearance contrasting from those around them; most if not all those around them were students. As if a rock of coral in a forest of seaweed, this mainlander sat upon a wagon with wares. Truly, he seemed a merchant more than a teacher, but the latter was the more likely.

Laughing at the statement of being implied to even be something like a teacher, Atlas would reach his hand forwards, slowly waving away that idea before stopping his laughing slowly.

"Oh no, no, god no!"

Knowing full well that such a stuck up business job wasn't going to be any fun, especially when they had to handle hundreds of regulations to even be given such a job in the first place, many people wanting to rather just pass out in bed after a long day of work grading all those papers.

"I could not handle an official teaching job, instead i trade and help promote trade between my home and other territories, to make sure that a small trading business will find luck.
Which improves the movement of information and knowledge and soon spreads it out into the next generation.
Future investment my man, it is the best way to gaurantee a good next generation!"

The beast itself just accepts the pats and waits carefully, hoping for any orders soon, disliking the sun before finding a spot to really get that back spot heatened up, kicking one leg calmly.

Triton understood, and moved his head in such a way as to show it. He eyed the beast adjusting itself as he spoke, "I see. So you are a merchant, then. What is your home? How long are your travels?"

In truth, he cared little about the individual himself, but his trade. The more knowledge Triton acquired about such a vocation, the more he would understand of the mainland culture. It was that which fascinated him.

Realizing that his questions revealed little about himself, Atlas started to grow a little suspicious before taking a deep breath, exhaling slowly as he pondered to himself, soon ending it off with a soft spoken 'pompididomp' as he tapped his forehead.

"I think i have been travelling for two days as i came from the middle of north america, it is not that difficult to travel when you are guided by a beast who can figure out the way on where to go based on simple directions.
Yet the lands are littered with beasts... For the rest we have small collections of anime and manga, along with comic books back at home that seem to be on the rise in prices.
New people being trained to defend themselves mostly and not how to do the little things like art and decoration."

He spoke, giving a good round answer while leaving a few things of interest in his statements, yet what he would ask about specifically would give some nice bits of information regarding the situation at hand.
Just what was this person doing here? Would he be able to figure this out?

North America. That term had not fallen upon his ears in quite some time. He had heard it through his parents, as they spoke of a world before the one that now was.

Then the man used words Triton had never before heard. His words were filled with confusion, as was his face. What is..animay? or monga? or comic books?"

Atlas at this point knew what he had to inform everybody for, giving a soft and deeply depressed breath that came out, his face looking grim and shaking softly as he seemed in despair.

"You... you do not know the true nature of artistic beauty and wonders?"

Making a much bigger deal out of this as he slowly made his way forwards, tears almost in his eyes as he threw himself backwards.

"Oh woe be me! oh woe! You do not know true nature, beauty and artistic talent in this world, you have never gotten one of those books with beautifull pictures depicted for your eyes?!"

Triton wore a look of confusion, not only because of his continued lack of knowledge on the subject, but also the man's sudden jump to dramatic emotion. His voice slowed, "I suppose I have not."

It wasn't too long before Atlas would start to take out some of the more interesting images of angels and warriors fighting against large gigantic robots from his pockets.
The images being written down in large beautifull brushes of pen and paintbrush itself.
Yet as this was shown, he would then speak contently.

"Ever tried becoming an artist yourself? Building a beautifull white dome with the paintings decorating the insides like a massive collaboration to your artistic talent?
People able to work and live as they aspire your art?"

Triton observed that which he was shown with an expression lacking fascination. They held some beauty, but were certainly superfluous. Still, he did not wish to degrade that which the man took passion in. "They are... interesting."

The man continued with queries. "No," Triton spoke in response, "my talents do not lie in such an area." Triton delayed his speech to ponder a moment before continuing without haste, speaking each word with purpose, "I find beauty in the world Poseidon has gifted us, not in that which man paints. One lives, one does not. One flows and is active, the other is merely paints on a canvas. Why find beauty in that which is dead and unnatural rather than the nature it depicts? Paints are concocted from nature, are they not? They are made by crushing natural substances. Therefore the beauty which man attempts to create is created by destroying the beauty which Poseidon has already placed. Tell me, traveler, does this truly sound like beauty?"

Surprised at this statement, Atlas would raise an eyebrow as he leaned on the cart that he was on just mere minutes ago as he would bring up an argument here.

"That seems like a limiting view on beauty is it not? There are many creatures who show beauty in their movements, yet the painting and sculpting that was brought outwards.
You may not have been able to see the beauty that is the flowing and impact behind some sculptures, behind some paintings, but do not fret as those things are still scattered around the world.
Why not help me find them?"

Triton was quite taken aback by such a request. "What kind of offer do you propose?" Triton raised a brow.
