He'd kept shifting back to avoid her attacks, his eyes watching her every movement carefully.

"Good, anticipating my attacks."

This time he'd draw his blade, but he'd let her take lead still.

"Indeed." She tried not to make the same mistake again, using her blade to deflect and push Blake's aside as he drew it so she could force an opening or knock him off balance. For all the single comment, she felt like it was wasting words as her focus remained on her opponent and his blade. She felt the driving need to improve, knowing he was holding back, knowing she was weak, but the dissatisfaction she'd felt at her situation faded away as they sparred.

Pressing the attack, she would strike at his shoulder as she kept the distance slight.

And she'd done well up to this point. Minding her footwork and his, and controlling his blade once it was drawn. When she went for her shoulder he'd lean in to let her blade land, a reward for her improvement and focus.

"Well done. I would go further, but my people will stress the importance of appearances while I am here during these events. You've improved."

She let out a sound of satisfaction as the blade connected, the ruler of Aurora leaning into the blow to prove a point.

"I understand." She nodded and re-sheathed her blade, noting nothing on the blade itself to clean. He was a king, after all, and she was....well, she was not. Best to let him keep appearances to please the others while he was here.

"Thank you for your time."
