A slight haze of cloud obscured the sky as Allison ran through warmups on the training field. There was an incessant need to move and improve, especially after the first part of the Chunin exams. They were facing against strong enemies, and though in the lead now, there was no way to make a successful guess as to their future endeavors. Cabal itself was something she still struggled with, working with a teammate who defaulted to anger in ways that put Ali herself to shame, the incoming danger. A massive qi beast being obliterated to a fine bloody mist with a single blow. All things she would never have seen for herself if she were back home. Just as she would never have known about her heritage, about a girl from Prota, or a being who, if crafted like familiars back home, would have turned heads with her sense of identity and thought. Unless she had been crafted specifically to be a companion on a lonely road, that is.
Savages or not, there was a world of wonder and opportunity out there. it was why she had pushed so hard to come here, to get her foot in elsewhere. And now Ali had to wonder what else there was.
Sunlight glinted off of her blade as she continued going through the forms, blocking an incoming attack from an imaginary opponent. She had asked Blake to follow up on their agreement, trade for training. She felt stronger than she had the first time, but it didn't feel like enough. Not to take him down, but to face off against whatever was coming. To go out in the world and come back better, So it was time to put that thought to rest, one way or another.

Blake was often in the training area when he was at Cabal. Away from the crowds, being crowned King had not given him a love of them. Though he tolerated it now because he had to. Places like this were more comfortable for him, and it was so that he found himself returning to one of his normal spots only to find it occupied by Allison. The mage who offered trade for training. He'd click his tongue quietly as he watched her move through the forms, better than before. But her movements were still too slow. He wondered if she was unsure of herself or just distracted. But he'd not interrupt her.

Ali would continue through her forms as Blake approached, glancing over to him briefly at the sound of disapproval before returning her focus back to her routine with a frown. The mage drew her blade up in a defensive position against an invisible foe, countering and continuing as she tried to focus more on what was happening now, in the moment with the practice she went through daily. Things her mentor had taught her that seemed pointless then, but were now ingrained in her.
She drew to a close and turned to Blake, blade held straight down at her side as she gave a small bow.
"Good afternoon, Your Majesty."

He brought a fist to his heart and lowered his head slightly. Returning the gesture.
"Good afternoon."
His eyes flickered to the blade before back to her.
"Deciding to resume practice?"

"I can accept that." Even with whatever protections Cabal had extending out this far, steel would be different from wood. But she'd fought with real steel out here before, and she knew there would be those stronger and faster than her in the days to come.

With a single nod, Ali drew her blade before her, the tattoo on the base of her neck glowing as she felt her inner strength raise. "Vald." Energy rippled around her, her hair going pale as energy pushed through the hilt of her blade. She took a deep breath and found the air clearer, sharper. She could feel the blood pumping in her veins, could see the blade of grass each dancing in the breeze as they began. "Kek!" It was a familiar move, but she knew she would have to break through the defenses he had first. She drew the blade in an upward swing, aiming diagonally across his chest. ____________________________ +1 Power Tattoo [ADD-ON]: This tattoo glows when needed adding +5 to a chosen stat. If there are any other Power Tattoo's in a thread they also activate. The Tattoos connect and add all bonuses to each other. Blake watched as power surged through her, rather than striking out with his blade and ending it now he would step back to avoid her blade, if only narrowly, his hand still gripping the hilt of his own.
"Footwork. Anticipate me. Direct me."

A different strategy, then. Mobility and control over power. She recalled having a similar lesson here before; it seemed that she still had a long way to go. She took a breath and continued, reserving her power for the time being as she drew her blade across his side, away from where his hand held the hilt of his blade. She didn't know if he'd retaliate with his blade or body, but she would keep her own weapon at an angle to deflect the anticipated blow.

He would sidestep her blade again, his hand remaining on the hilt of his blade as he twisted and pivoted to spin behind her, tapping the back of her head with a finger of his other hand.
"Direct me. If you can not, then find your own moves directed."

"Understood." She felt a minor flash of irritation as his finger poked the back of her head, not at Blake, but at herself. Turning to her left, she would pivot and draw her blade to strike at his side, sidestepping to put herself closer towards his back than she had been.

Blake was still able to evade her attack, but this time he'd turn with her, taking a step back as she took his instruction and started to direct the flow of the fight herself.

Good. But she could do better, too. She had to.
"Vald," she muttered, the power keeping her going. She should stop at this rate, but she knew her speed was her weakness currently. Still, she'd be best holding off on it some. Stepping forward as Blake stepped back, she would press the attack, striking at him from his side without the blade while his hand was still on the blade as she moved to that same side, her left.
Expecting him to turn to face her, she would pull back her blade, rather than give him an open shot if he chose to draw it. He was honorable, but that didn't mean he might not see fit to challenge her further. Assuming he did so, she would dstep close, drawing her blade up in a diagonal onc emore.
