Job: It's time to get the squad together and hash out our problems. Be they in the field or with each other personally.
Bonus: Fight each other, discuss problems, and grow together or apart.
Payout: +5 exp, +$250
Rai would be sitting in his office going off of multiple reports that he had received from a number of his different informants through out 235 about a growing drug problem. It started off insignificant and not worth worry at this point in time, but has now grown to become a rather serious issue. Leaning back in his chair he would rub his chin in thought. After a brief moment he would send word for Dime and Jericho to come meet him in his office.

Jericho walked into the room in his usual robotic fashion. He moved to the middle of the room, but to the side so as not to block the entry way.
"Hello Rai," he said plainly, standing as if frozen in time; put on pause.

Dime had arrived soon after and would be fussing with her hair... She cleared her throat and tried to act like she was prepared for the day on such short notice.

Nodding to Jericho and then Dime when they entered he would then tell everyone else that wasn't the royal guards to excuse them for a moment. Once it was just them he would forward on his desk and clasp his hands.
"Thank you both for coming, feel free to take a seat."
He would wait for them to either sit or remain standing before continuing.
"So, the reason I've asked you both to come in is because I've been getting reports that, somehow, our territory is being flooded with drugs and our people are getting addicted to these new drugs. Therefore I first wanted to ask if either of you have noticed anything unusual while y'all have been out and about in the territory. Have you seen people behaving strangely or heard of anything similar?"

Strange behavior. Such a relative term. Jericho took a minute to think and analyze what exactly was considered normal in this territory, before then recalling if anything deviated from such a normal.
"I believe so. My men have been coming to me, telling me of criminals that have been increasingly more difficult to..." Jericho paused a moment, deciding what term he should use. Most people would prefer the term "handle," but this was his king.
"...torture. That would be considered strange, yes?"

Dime would press her lips. The fact this has come up makes her shift in her seat and exhale deeply as if she wasn't proud to admit it.
"Drugs are a common thing here. Its actually over half the reason we've been able to live by the supply and purchase. Depending on the drug, depending on its purpose just the same as people's reaction to them. Most in the territory are quite dependent on drugs. But... You are saying something new?" She tilted her head slightly confused. Wondering if he might become more specific then it might come through clearer as to what he means.

Rai's eyes would go wide.
"Your men shouldn't be torturing our own people in the first place!"
Jesus man... then he would look back to Dime.
"Yes, new, my reports say something similar to what Jericho stated. Everyone taking this new drug seems to have powers and abilities that they didn't once have."

Perhaps he would choose the word handle next time. Most people had a negative outlook on the word torture. In his case, it was strictly for the purpose of justice, so what the King was reacting to was most likely the more negative connotation that most people knew. Jericho should have considered this beforehand. That was not the issue at hand however.
"I do not understand. Why is taking these drugs wrong if they do enhance ones abilities. Is that not beneficial. We should use them so that we may return to our former status as superior." His tone was so steady and bland the questions asked did not have a curious tone to them. They were said just as every other sentence.

"With effects like that the drawbacks could be terrible to the ones taking them. Or if the users lose control it could undo our whole kingdom. I think we should be more worried about how we are getting this new drug." she would point out to Jericho. "It's new, it's unknown, to me it sounds like sabotage. I am concerned."

Rai would nod. Jericho wasn't entirely wrong, a drug like this could be incredibly useful. But Dime hit the issue right on the nose.
"Exactly as Dime says. The possibility of using this drug in the future can be figured out after we find out where they are coming from, and what negative side effects there are."
Rai would then stand up.
"Do either of you have any further questions?"

There were negative effects. This was logical, but what remained unreasonable is why one would take them if that was the case. Humans were a strange species.

"Raikotsu... Curious to say if we dont know even that much then what do we know? And how did this come to our attention?" she scratched her head. "No doubt Quarters influence was strong on a lot of people. Both fear and respect ran rampant in his wake. To think if wanting this so bad people will jump at the chance to grab any opening no matter what the gimmick or consequence..." she was babbling that second part outloud to no one in particular. But it did weigh heavy on her mind.
From the sounds of it not sure if anyone has dropped dead of this drug or has reported doing so. But also not many reports of disturbing the peace describing this have been reported either. Dime should liked to think she would have heard about this before Raikotsu, its kind of her job.
Unless she failed to catch wind of this or something is amiss, she was curious to find out just what.
She would elate a heavy sigh. People who are so desperate for strength to seek it out in every corner. She truly felt that feeling jealousy for those with Qi shouldn't be a thing. Then again saying that as she herself has a Qi, even if a simple one, doesn't grant a strong argument no matter the many reasons she could give. The fact is this is the reality and she felt a duty to face it.

Rai nodded at Dime's concerns.
"Its true, we know next to nothing about it. The only reason I know is because some of the men from Quarters old gang are loyal to me, as that was Quarters terms of agreement laid out before our fight against each other, and a few of them have been running minor scouting missions for me. Most are for outside our territory, but a couple have been doing in territory recon and they discovered this going on. They were investigating the sudden boom in people with Qi abilities in our territory and uncovered the drug connect."
Rai would then walk over to the door.
"Now, to answer your question Jericho, I would like for the two of you to join me. One of my scouts set up a meeting with a possible dealer. We will meet him and attempt to discover more about what's going on. Unless either of you would suggest another course of action you think we should take?"
He wasn't asking as a challenge, he was generally curious to hear their thoughts on the matter.

Jericho took in all this information the two spoke of, being sure to keep it in mind for when it was necessary.
As Rai walked to the door, Jericho rotated his body in a steady motion, always facing the King. To Rai, it would almost seem as if Jericho was a two dimensional figure of some sort.
The King asked a question of Jericho and his friend, and he had no alternative, only a clarification.
"The plan sounds quite logical. Upon our finishing of..." he paused for a slight second. "...handling him.. to remove the information needed, I will oversee the punishment for his crimes, yes?"
The tiniest of inflections whisped across his tone oh-so subtly upon the last word. Punishing wrong do-ers was one of the very, very few things that could spark the smallest hint of a change in voice. One could even think it was Jericho's own emotionless version of excitement, if one did find it fit to refer to it as such.

"Ah... To think some actually fell through on his dying wish." she grew bit more respect to the allies they gained that day she didnt expect too many to hold up that. At the very least Quarter new some of his men would have been best off with this guidance.
After hearing the official plan of action she straightened herself better and nodded in absolute agreement. "After you then." she would follow Raikotsu to the destination.
