He tries to tell where the knives are coming from without having to stick his head out.

Following the flight path of the knife that went past his head he would know that it had come from above. So someone on a balcony or roof top.

He kicks up his leg at the same time, aiming to boot the attacker in the stomach!

Daniel, not expecting this level of strength, grunts from the impact, his vision going blurry for a second.
However, he fires immediately after he can see, aiming for the attacker's center mass!

The sounds of ricocheting could be heard as the bullets were reflected off of his armor. Stepping forward would be a large and heavily armed Sudeki Merc wielding a giant mace. Which he would swing down in an attempt to smash Daniel!

Daniel's eyes widen in alarm, and he does his best to roll out of the way!
Afterwards, he aims for the mercenary's eye-slits in his armor, looking to return the semi-lethal favor.

The large Merc would begin to raise his arm to defend himself. But it was obviously too slow. However, instead of being hit in the eye by the bullet... the bullet would miraculously stop in mid air! The big Merc would look up to the left where, if Daniel looked as well, there would be another Merc on the roof top his eyes a bright yellow with intricate designs. The bullet would then turn in the air... and fly back for Daniel!

He successfully dodges his own bullet and gets to cover however he would FEEL the giant moving towards him. As for the individual on the rooftops... Daniel had lost sight of his movements.

If he can feel the man chasing him, then he doesn’t need to watch him.
Instead, Daniel looks to scale the building up to the roof, to deal with man with the eyes!
