"I only... Just recently found that out." her voice became somber. "I... Honestly I thought if Mathew entrusted that man into his own home... But then finding out that Mathew worked for him!" she stomped her food in absolute frustration. "I respected you enough to name Derik after you in a sense... But you are not Mathew. Still... We will be free if it ever becomes a problem!
"Any obstacle I come across I will over come it! Because my life is as I will see it and I will make sure Derik has the same fate. No matter what he chooses or what I choose, at least I'll choose it with a clear mind and self worth."

"But you feel like you wronged Mathew. Why would you trust a man with your child who has loyalty to the man you wronged?"

"I once upon a time would have entrusted Mathew himself with my child. Because I had once thought anyone would have done better and but he, I am certain, was my best hope... I had hoped he believed that the sins of the parent shouldn't hurt the sins of an innocent child. I... Children like me did nothing and yet I grew up to be... Me. If he hadn't shared that view I had others but instead I decided to stop being scared." she shrugged.

Eric would start walking around her, hands held behind his back.
"You tie my hands. You know that?"

She looked at him the confusion in her face became apparent. Deciphering what he meant or what he was talking about became debating if he was serious or talking in a figurative manner. And either way how would she be be doing it.
"What do you mean Eric? Please, continue..." her voice was soft and uncertain to what was to come.

"Again and again you deny me. You tie my hands. And the sand continues to drop through your hourglass."

"I know... I am running out of time..." she would attempt to walk around and see of his hands were actually tied. She began to think of the things she might be needing to accept.
"Are you not Eric? Am I still calling you the wrong name?"

Eric's hands were indeed bound.
"Eric can not possibly be here."

Her heart nearly leaped from her chest. "Oh hell what am I doing!?" she chuckled a bit of relief and reached for the bonds to undo them but realized quickly something was amiss.
"I am not sure I know still... Who are you if not who you appear to be? Past, present, or future? Fear or love? Life or death?" she breathed. "Have we been formally introduced..?"

"None of the above." But he did not say, and her hands would move through the bonds like the smoke they were. But his hands were not free.

She had hands on his wrists and planted her forhead against his back her eyes closed and her brow furrowed firm. "Thank goodness you are at least not death that I have to accept..."
She exhaled. "My name is Avice Locke... It is a pleasure to meet you... Might I know who you are?"
