Preston was ready once again to try his hand at replicating the stored energy of the Lightning Dragon that he had acquired.  This time however he was going to try a different approach to it.  Rather than make something that can be consumed, to pour that energy into a static object, he would attempt to merge it with living tissue.  A small sample of Roz's symbiotic was graciously and generously provided by his partner and confidant, and he was determined to make the most of this rare gift. 

He had the sample in a small container, his notes opened next to it as he invoked the lightning Dragon's energy, coaxing it into the sample of symbiotic tissue.

Doing so the energy would infuse itself into the small symbiote sample. But, nothing seemed to happen...

He would continue to take notes and observe it for now!

After a few more moments it would begin to move and struggle to take shape. It would become an eye (it looked strangely like Leon's eye...) and it looks at Preston!

Preston looks at it before jotting down his notes on that as well. Making a simple hand gesture to summon a globe of water.

"At rek Arel".

"Would you be so kind as to blink twice if you can hear and understand me?"

He made a point to not make direct eye contact with the creation however, he was aware of the Sudeki bloodline.

Water Shield - Water Element - Support Archetype- Preston summons a disk of water that circles it's target and persists for the thread or until it absorbs an attack. The disk can absorb up to Preston's Energy in damage.

The eye would blink... then spasm... then turn to dust.

"Mmmmm."

He would write his notes down with its short-lived life before examining the dust to try and detect residual mana.

Upon studying the remains, Preston was able to deduce that the creature was... essentially Leon, but made out of the Symbiotes genetic make up.

That would also make its way into the notes before he would clean up his mess, making sure to engulf it in the water orb for safety. Both a potential breakthrough and a problem. Copying Leon would be ideal, but not if the host became Leon. He needed to find a way to not only keep the soul energy from destroying the host tissue but to ensure that it did not take over the tissue either.

Preston needed to consult the library in the Cleric's haven. He suspected that if the tome he needed would be anywhere, that's where it would reside.

Upon reading the only thing Preston might find useful is that, in theoretical experiments of symbiotes it is improbable for them to exist long without a host if given life.

Preston would continue to read up on soul energy and methods used to subdue and control it. Comparing it with his own notes on Leon's Mana.

He found a few possible ways to weaken a soul but most is theoretical because most haven't had any active experience in the Magic that Preston was performing.

He would take the relevant texts with him and return to his laboratory, looking upon whatever information they had on Symbiotes and the process of creating them, and the effects they have on their hosts. He would also take note on any theories or data recorded on symbiote lifespans with and without hosts. Should they have any with such a small sample size known.

He found a book called, "The theory behind creating a symbiote" it holds the formula for possible creation process, but the writer wrote that he was unsuccessful in finding the correct ingredients to make the experiment complete. Thus, until the correct ingredients can be found his work shall remain, theoretical. The other books found ranged in answers, but they all agreed on one thing, without a host a symbiote of any size has an extremely short lifespan.
