Understanding Power (LeonGM)

Mathew had found a small secluded area a mile or so away from home, or where home was for the moment at least.  A quiet place away from the distractions that home often had, a place where he could reflect in private about the way his Qi was mutating and changing.  He felt the differences, subtle at first, but expanding.  He hadn't felt something like this in years.  It was a new awakening, but how and in what way were his abilities mutating.  

Those were the questions on his mind as he sat, munching on a large stone that he'd picked up along the way.  The war had never ended here, and in it's own way that would leave it's own imprint upon the land.  And he would take that imprint upon himself, but part of him wondered what was prompting the changes within.  Exhaling lightly a small spike of stone fell to the ground in front of him, his breath solidified.

When it comes to earth and it's minerals none usually share or show any properties one can misconstrue as magical or beyond common explanation. The stone spike in front of him, built from compressing carbon molecules at such an intense speed and rate almost instantly. It may take a moment to notice, that the stone he created had cracks in it, which would be unusual for Mathews Qi since it was almost always solid, smooth, and without weak points.

He'd pick up the spike and would examine it closer, both with his eyes and his hands. Letting his fingers moving along it, feeling it for weakness and feeling the cracks in its structure as his eyes traced it. Letting his power probe into it to try and determine how it might differ than his normal work.

[Zack Asiv]

Mathew would find that deep within the cracks was a pulsing hot power that felt nothing like his normal abilities. Like lava were contained within this small spike, but it was cool to the physical touch, like stone. There were also no real weaknesses to it's structure. His power probe would find it was his energy, but it was VERY old.

He would probe deeper.

[Zack Asiv]

It is actually difficult for Mathew to probe much further. It is outside of his element so to say, but that feeling returns. The feeling after the events of saving Evelyn. His power feels darker, not evil, or foreboding, just literally beyond his usual stuff. Mathew's eyes can even see the stone begin to turn black.

He tries to bring himself back to that moment, even summoning the Scorpion King into his heart to draw upon different types of power, it was a puzzle to crack. And while he might not be able to brute force it, he might be able to change his energy up enough to slip in.

[Zack Asiv]

Mathew's energy shifting would help him inch through the surface of the old energy. But there was something else, mingling with his energy, it didn't have sentience it was like a his power was trying to tap into something he had absorbed without knowing it during his battle with the large shadow beings and their puppet master.

As his power slowly inched in he would keep sliding and shifting it, looking for another crack to slip into, mentally trying to shift his energy darker, like he was trying to manipulate not the stone, but the shadows within the cracks.

[Zack Asiv]

It wouldn't take long for his energy to shift completely dark, and with it the spike he was holding would turn black completely, the cracks would glow with an orange burning glow, the stone was still stone, but there was a black moving aura around it now. He knew this power, this lava on the inner most part to be ancient in most regards, possibly thousands of years old. But it was also familiar, just not familiar enough to place. Deja Vu.

Mathew's master and knowledge of Qi has led to the deduction that his Qi was infected by the Puppet Master, but the Draconic properties of his energy absorbed and controlled the infection adding it's elemental type to its self on instinct alone.

Mathew has learned!
Shadow Nemesis! - Mathew can add Dark/Shadow energy to his Qi attacks causing a caustic infection to those hit doing his Energy in damage the post following the initial attack, 75% his energy the second, 50% energy the third, and 25% the fourth. Shadow Nemesis can stack infections up to three times.

He was surprised by how fast he was able to get his energy to shift. But he had felt strange things in his power for some time now. Ever since he rescued Eve. It was small wonder if that monster had managed to merge with him somewhat. He had to wonder what other things were hidden inside of him since then. With the darkness energy attuned he would try to delve even deeper into this power, he had obtained.

The Scorpion King responds, even if Mathew wasn't talking to him, he was going to share his opinion.

"There is something Primal about it. When was the last time you showed emotion in a true form?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

The day my family died.

But point taken.

But there is a way to draw it out past my guards.

Tossing the stone spike up into the air.

"But let me promise you King. I'm going to find the Beast." He said as he caught the spike, driving it into his own chest and dragging it downward, ripping through the muscle. Pain surging forth to usher in the anger that always seethed under his skin since that day. "And I am going to make him long for the days when he was strapped to a table in Barker's lab. I will show him what pain is."

With the action's and raw emotions of rage Mathew would find the hand holding the stone shaking with his rage! However the sensation was different from any other time he shook, it would be giving off a resonant sound even with how fast it vibrated. There was some sort of energy build up there, demanding release!

Seismic Strike! - Mathew is able to take on the body of the earth, controlling all the vibrations around him and putting them into his attacks. This causes everything within a 20ft radius of him to lose all kinetic movement, needing more Speed than Mathew's energy to be able to not be stopped completely. Mathew can then strike forward causing a massive wave of seismokinetic energy in any direction his attack goes once per thread. This does Mathew's energy in dmg, plus all targets within 20 ft's speed in damage.

With a roar of pain and fury, Mathew would unleash the energy he felt building up inside of him. No holding back.
