"So more would be tyrants?"

"As a simplified version of their goals, yes."
Virgil would agree with Blake's assumption.

"Would that be true of all of the rebel groups?"

Virgil would think.
"They all call back to some strange claim of leadership, or sole ambition to lead this land themselves as a singular ruler. A question of their benevolence or malevolence is harder to answer, but... There is a man who doesn't lead a resistance who was respected during the war and was benevolent in nature."

"Who is that man?"

"Quinn O'Boyle. He was defeated as the example to this land of the Conqueror's personal strength, and stripped of his own rights in the land. Handily broken by the invasion he no longer leads any troops, but out of the leaders that still exist he would be the most likely to have the people's best interests in mind."

"Where can I find him?"

"He spends quite a bit of time in town, begging. Not that he doesn't have job opportunity, he lacks motivation."

"His spirit is broken."
Blake turned away from the beach back in the direction they came from.
"The way we came then?"

Virgil would look back at the path they had traveled for a moment.
"Yes."

"Then I suppose it is fortunate that walking never hurt us."
He would turn and begin down the path once more.
"Do you have an opinion on our mission here? I realize I've never asked your opinion, just what you know."

Virgil would grin and turn back to walk behind Blake. Though he posed a question he hadn't expected.
"This mission is confusing on a moral level... But I understand the duty to Aurora, and the need to keep to what was needed. The Conqueror should know he can be reached the same way he reaches at us."

Blake nodded.
"It will make us a target, but he needs to be reminded he too can bleed. I believe it will slow his conquest down if he has to consider retaliation."
He turned to glance back at Virgil.
"What confuses you?"

Virgil would look at people as they moved around.
"I just feel like... We are interrupting their peace for something selfish, in a way."

"I don't think there is a way to do this without interrupting their peace. When we destroy the crystal eyes will turn here. If we can help the people of this land reclaim their home and culture, that can spread to other places here as well. Then the Conqueror will be faced with a war on two fronts across the world."
Innocent lives would be lost. But innocent lives can also be saved.
"I have to believe it is better to die as I am than to live as a slave, subjugated and culture eradicated. And I believe I am not the only one who believes that."
People were often just afraid. Or so he believed.
