This is something I've always tinkered with in the back of my mind ever since I was introduced to 4e by John. With the recent explosion of content from Wizards of the Coast, a lot of characters (but not quite all just yet) have become more realizable. I would say this is something I'd do for myself, but by posting it publicly, this inherently opens it up to scrutiny.
With that in mind, I'm going to do the best re-iteration of characters who used to exist in 259's past. I'll do my best to accomodate when available, but obviously, I only got to know a handful of these people and their characters personally to really get a gist of how their characters might look like. I'm also not really opening up any books and doing a fair amount of this by memory pretty fast and loose. There's gonna be a ton of missing characters. Maybe if I have time, I'll include an explanation of why I set certain characters as certain archetypes/races/etc. We'll see.
That said! There's a bit of Dungeon Master variant rules and homebrew and non-Adventurer's League friendly stuff when crafting these results, so please keep the following in mind:
-Dungeon Master's Guide Variant Rule: Gaining Feats and Ability Score Increases beyond Level 20.
-We're assuming Point Buy over Rolling Stats as it's a finicky/meta topic when done exclusively online. Less questions of trust asked.
-Matt Coleville's "Strongholds & Followers" handbook.
-Including all the WotC material, including the Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, Dungeon Master's Guide, Sword Coast Adventure Guide, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Mordekainen's Tome of Foes, etc.
-I won't be factoring in/mentioning the "Deities" from the Points of Light, Forgotten Realms, Eberron, etc. settings. That's something that should be decided after the fact as 259 was originally based on an exaggeration of our world/lifepoint1's XIN animation.
-Everyone was goddamned pretty. The anime influences were heavy here, so for literally inhuman/non-pretty races, 1) most people wouldn't fit the known stereotypes and 2) I'd probably err away from them. Feel free to make a take on your own character, I'll happily be wrong. The most direct example would be Leon Sudeki---in an anime-fashion, would probably look human-esque.
-Certain Unearthed Arcana.
-Dungeon Master's Guide Variant Rule: Lingering Wounds for those people out there who are blind or missing eyes (hint hint wink wink)
