[John Strike]

Strike listened to her dilemma and lack of inspiration on her course of golem attempt. He nodded at this and closed his eyes momentarily.

"The Earth Dragon had created a golem of earth in the shape of a Dragon. It took some in the field study but he took a practical approach to it using his skills as a manipulator of Qi energy. He threaded intricate Qi networks inside of the solid earth creature to do different things. Regulate movement, energy flow, each new string of energy gave it further dexterity. Though his process is costly and annoying, it is no less effective. Sentience however was not achieved to my knowledge. Perhaps you could create an intricate network of energy using Qi Crystals to act as a nervous system and ventricle system. I will even give you a gift that will give your golem true sentience if you wish. Maybe it will spark some creativity in your mind."

Strike would get up and move through the cabin looking for something.

"Oh I'm sure I have an extra one laying around somewhere."

He rummaged a bit more before snapping his fingers and reaching into a drawer. He would walk over and place a golf ball sized Qi Crystal on the table in front of her.

"This is what we refer to in Prota as a Beast Crystal."

Strike would tap the one around his neck.

"This one is empty, so you will have to go out and kill a Qi Beast to capture it's powers within it. You will take the creature's sentience and be able to add it to the golem. Just connect it to the crystal network and it should be easily controlled."

As complicated as it sounded, she didn't doubt she could probably figure out the Qi network and then make the golem move through her own will. Most of the time her assistance in battle was from afar, so she would need only concentrate on the golem and not her own attacks.

As she pondered it while he continued to explain, she'd perk up at the mention of an interesting gift.

Once it was placed on the table, Faye would lean in and inspect it, nodding at the explanation.

Ah. If only she'd had this all those other times she was present for the death of a Qi Beast. Ah well. She had an idea for that anyway.

"Are you sure I can have this? It's a generous gift."

[John Strike]

"Yes, I believe it could be useful to you in the future should you hit anymore road blocks when it comes to ideas. Besides, every basic soldier in Prota has one. It's a bit of a state secret, but with the Conqueror being a current threat, one less secret seems to be a measured loss in comparison."

Strike nods as he speaks.

[Kaia Galanos]

She reaches for the crystal to take it in her hand, staring down at it as she holds it delicately.

"You have my sincere gratitude. I do not personally have any reason to reveal what this is, however if its secrecy is no longer a concern I suppose there's no reason for me to hide it either?"

She was fine with it either way, but she was willing to keep it under wraps if he preferred. Making things happen with no explanation to anyone else was something she was used to doing.

Strike would raise an eye brow.

"Well if you are willing to keep it a secret, that would be appreciated."

[Kaia Galanos]

"It is no problem. I have given you nothing in return for your aid. It is the least I can do."

She didn't really think she had anything to offer otherwise in terms of it being more of an exchange.

[John Strike]

"There is something I could use in exchange."

Strike would say testing the waters to see if she were open to the concept.

[Kaia Galanos]

"Do tell."

She knows better than to say yes before knowing what she's getting into.

[John Strike]

"Prota's research into abilities hidden in the DNA of specific people is not going very far. We have only one sample bloodline that we have data for. We could use data, samples, or information about others that exist."

[Kaia Galanos]

Hm.

Well he didn't specify from where. If she snagged a sample from someone outside of Cabal, she wouldn't really be betraying anyone.

The question was, how does she figure out if they even have one? Well...

"I see. I may be able to pull some strings and acquire some form of data."

Had she a bloodline herself, she would have offered it, but alas.

[John Strike]

"Ah, I see. Well I will await your message. You can just send it with your PT tot he Protan Liason's office."

Strike would smile and nod.

"Anything else troubling you, or that you need help with? Advancement in science is of course the only way we advance as humans."

[Kaia Galanos]

"I am inclined to agree. Without meaning to pry about any secrets you may have, I was somewhat hoping to get a different perspective on things. You helped me figure out a suggestion I had been given...but I am interested in hearing about the steps you would have taken in my shoes. The sort of things you may have tried with a Qi like mine."

Everyone's mind worked differently. Perhaps seeing things through different eyes could open up more possibilities.

"Then explain to me, in a basic sense or show me, what you can do."

[Kaia Galanos]

"The simple way to explain it is taking two different elements and creating an effect. Some mixtures turn into buffs, others create an attack. In most cases they are contained within a vial and activate when I release them."

[John Strike]

"Well if I were to say it straight, there are sixteen elements of Qi. Fire, Lightning, Wind, Water, Ice, Blood, Bone, Earth, Physical, Poison, Disease, Dragon, Dark, Light, Mental, and Energy. Some elements work together, others counter each other. Fire needs oxygen to even work, so if you mix wind and fire you get an even more intense fire. Earth and Light generally use healing properties on their own, or defensive properties. Imagine reversing that with disease or poison mixed in doing continues damage. Maybe you just haven't... Experimented properly. You need test subjects I think."
