He had some time to recover from his blood loss after the incident with the Castle and his battle against the Frost King. He still did not have the Monster inside of him, and the emptiness that it left was like a pit gnawing at his soul. It was like part of him died that day, and while he was freed from his never ending battle against the Monster, he was now lost and weakened. Aurora was weakened, but he refused to accept that. He couldn't. He would find a way to push himself, and prove to not only the world, but to himself that he was more than the Monster made him.
Pacing the training grounds he'd await Ali for their training session. The case of blades full of swords that he wished to test out. Hoping one of them would be suitable to replace the four he had lost.

It had been a while since her last trip to Aurora. Between traveling the territories and missions, it felt longer than it had been, but Ali found Aurora itself mostly unchanged. The residents confirmed that their king had returned, victorious and hale, but little else. It was enough for her to continued the next training session with something like excitement.
She paused when she reached the training grounds, noting the familiar figure that paced in silence. Paced. She didn't know Blake could pace, the stillness he held himself and confidence no longer greeting the world. Anyone could have walked in and seen it.
But she didn't stop, merely paused as she stepped into the grounds, bowing respectfully with her hand over her fist.
"Welcome home, King Oleander." It was about the only formality she had at this point, addressing him by his title when she first met and left. "It's good to see you again."

With a moment to take a breath to steel and compose himself, he would turn to Ali with a nod. She came armed, good.
"Welcome back. I am pleased to see you managed to make it out before the battle."
He had no doubt that she did what she was asked to do. At least as far as the President and her leaders would have let her.

"I was able to return safely, and warn the others." Ali nodded at the observation, noting the lack of his usual blades with a quizzical look, but otherwise saying nothing. Why would he not bring them like he had with any other training session? Why such changes?
"Malice in particular sends his regards," she mused with a dry sense of humor and wry smile. "And his regrets at not being able to join you."

He nodded that made sense.
"It was expected to be a one-way trip. Not his sacrifice to make."
His hand moved to the case, frowning at the absence of the familiar feeling of the hilts of his blades.
"Ready?"
Dante hovered over Blake's shoulder, brandishing his tiny scythe menacingly.

What was this, spot the difference day? Perhaps he felt the need to change it up. Either way, Ali would nod and draw her blade, comfortable with the grip as she stepped forward and wondered who the new qi sprite was.

Blake flicked open the sword case as the fifteen blades within launched around the arena. Blake would grab the closest one, charging at her with a horizontal slash for her torso. His eyes held the same killer focus she would be used to, but his arm remained very human.

"Vald." It was a spell Blake would be used to by now, boosting Ali's strength as she prepared for an attack that never came. The expression was still there, but the ripping of muscle and cracking bones were not. She held her blade at an angle, raising it to meet his own and push it away from them and feeling it cut into her sleeve and arm both. "Kek!" She gritted her teeth pivoted and turned, striking at his side with her blade to keep moving out of immediate range. ____________________________ Ability #6: Empower - "Vald" - Creating a sword of energy, Ali is able to draw in the energy of the world around her to increase all her stats by +6 for three posts. Kek Level Two: Ali is now able to channel 100% of her ENG into her attack. Attack: 38 Defense: 46 Speed: 27 Perception: 37 Energy: 70

One thing he still had over Ali in spades was speed, he'd twist with her attack bringing his blade up easily to block it. Though the blade would shatter from her attack, her blade moving past it and grazing his arm which would spring up with Crystals to protect him. Kicking at her to create distance Blake would hold his arm out, Dante vanishing as the death Scythe appeared in his hand.

Living Crystal embodies these gloves and can sense danger on their own, rapidly expanding into jagged crystals to act as a shield, covering the arm and expanding where needed with the Def of 3/4ths his energy. Automatically used when needed 3 times per thread should an attack not be blocked, deflected, or dodged.

If there was one thing she knew she needed to improve, it was exactly that. Ali's wings would activate, spreading open as she hovered in the air. The surprises were concerning, but if she spent all her time fussing, she'd just end up in the dirt with damaged pride.
Grunting as the kick landed, she went from getting knocked back to airborne, knowing whatever she dealt with would have to to break through the crystals first.
"Kek!" She frowned as she struck from above, diagonally slashing at his shoulder and chest.

Well, Blake couldn't follow her in the air, so he stayed on the ground waiting for her to come to him. He wouldn't block this attack, letting the crystals protect him as he swung the Scythe to try and get it behind her, pulling down on it to attempt to slice into her back and slam her into the ground!

"Vald." Her tattoo flared as he struck from behind, not as quick to match her but enough for her senses to struggle. The steel bit into her back as she hit the ground and rolled, ignoring the blood and ruined shirt as she rolled to face him and got back on her feet. The attacks still hurt, but were nowhere near what they usually were. her frown intensified as she sent her blades to attack him, knowing he had one hit left with the shield and ready to burn through it to prove how hard she could really hit.
"Why are you holding back?" It was insulting.
The blades would soar into the air, coming at Blake from all four sides!

He straightened with pride as his oath activated. Swapping places with Ali as her blades came at her from four directions.

Blakes Oath allows him to instantly change places with anyone he can see up to four times a thread. As long as 'Aurora' has a Happiness above 100. If Aurora has a Happiness and Safety above 200 he gets +15 Atk, +15 Def instead. His body switch also has unlimited uses

Shit.
Willing her blades to form a shield instead, Ali managed to control two of the four, negating a portion of the damage and taking the rest as her own blades cut through the shield. She felt weaker than before now, but maybe he'd jsut gotten stronger along the way, as well. Knocking a castle from teh sky sounded like it could do that.
The crimson halo formed over her as she struck at Blake, letting lightning last out at him from the tip of her blade to hopefully blast through his shield and not her own again.

Blake couldn't do anything about the lightning so he'd rush Ali as the electricity hit him dead on, the Crystals absorbing what they could before crumbling to the ground, his flesh searing and burned where they failed to protect him, but he pushed through it, swinging the Scythe at her.
