M would smile.
"Yeah, Liam is the only one that can use it. As for me, I use it's... alternative features."
She would say slyly.

Annnnnd back to smiling. Eve assumed even the conversation was a game to M, raising a brow at the sly tone.
"And what kind of alternative uses did you come up with?" She turned to face M now as she spoke.

M would walk around Evelyn to tap on the helmet with her nail. It would create an eerie humming noise that would travel the entirety of the helmet.
"Mmmm, let's just say that the energy field it produces can do more than just harden to create a shield."

"Interesting." She could think of a few things that M could do with the energy with teh little display, depending on how far she could push it. None of which were pleasant. Though there was also teh fact the woman could manipulate the energy instead of just absorbing it.
"You seem like you've had plenty of time to play with it."

"Of course! Ever since Liam gave me a piece of the power, I've been playing with just to find out what all it can do."
She said giggling like a child with a toy.

So despite being a dog who needed a leash, she was someone Liam trusted enough with additional power beyond what her station offered.
"I guess that's one toy you can't break, then," she said dryly. "The people here don't seem to know much about power like that. It says a lot that he would give some to you."

"Hmph."
M would sound almost offended by that statement.
"Liam has recognized my worth and my loyalty and has bestowed me with this gift because of that. Whether you can understand that or not, is of no concern to me."
However the way it sounded, Eve had definitely struck a nerve...

It felt nice to be the one pushing buttons instead of the other way around. Eve's brows rose at the tone, even if she didn't comment on it.
"I wouldn't suggest otherwise. You'd have to be capable of handling it as well as earn it." She paused for half a second. "Regardless of if you were an outsider or not."

"What's that supposed to mean?"
M would say, the nerve button didn't seem to be working and M's voice sounded really cold...

"It's an observation." That was a warning bell to listen to, but Eve wasn't going to back down from what she'd said or take it back. Instead, she shrugged.
"I don't know you or your story. I know what I see when both of us walk past the people here, just like you've seen how they respond to me despite our being here for a good four months or so. There's a wall they place between us and them. Outsider. However they choose to define the term.
"But regardless of that, Liam saw something in you worthwhile."

"And don't you forget that, child. Understand this. Liam has accepted your father. But you are nothing more than a tag along in his mind. You do nothing but ride on the waves of your fathers success. You are an entitled child that claims her fathers success for your own. Until YOU do something worthwhile, or of note. That is all you will be. Or continue to sit on your gilded throne and ignore reality as the spoiled brat that you are assumed to be."
With that M would turn around and walk off.

Eve's lips pressed into a thin line as M chimed in, her accusations sharp and true, but the redhead let her speak uninterrupted. Lashing out at this point would probably just lead to future problems, and no point in physically lashing out if it meant possibly destroying the homes here if things got out of hand. Her hands clenched into fists as the tirade went on. Apparently she'd found the right button to hit to upset the other woman.
"Noted," she said flatly, slowly turning her back to M as the woman walked away. That was why she had come here, to see what she could learn of the people. To see what happened when her father's presence wasn't there to influence those around her. Back home, she would have been fine, but this was a war-torn land, and if she was going to be a part of it like she said she would, then she needed to step up. It had been eating at her for a while, and by a while she meant 'every time I train with the others.' She may have started a spoiled princess, but that wasn't an option anymore.
She let out a soft sigh and looked down, wondering if any bits of teh helmet may remain or other signs of something disruptive other than it magically shrinking and teleporting to protect Liam's head.
She'd prove them all wrong. Somehow.

Evelyn would just begin to snoop around when she would hear a voice. "Uhm, excuse me, can I help you?" A voice from behind Eve would ask. Upon turning around she would see a Man standing there with a satchel under his arm, staring at her confusion and concern obvious on his face. "I do hope you aren't tampering with the great helmet..." He would say, in a worried tone.

Thank the gods and goddesses and all their spawn, someone out here had manners.
"I'm not sure that you can, but I appreciate the thought." Clearly not how he meant it, but Eve's lips lifted in a hint of a smile anyway as she turned to face whoever was behind her. He seemed humble and normal enough, whether he was coming or going.
"Not at all." M had been, but that wasn't her. "My name's Evelyn. I came to take a look around the village, but you can't find anything quite like this back home. I just wanted to see it for myself."

The man was immediately relieved.
"Ah, thank goodness. I understand completely. I often enjoy coming out here and just beholding this amazing sight. It does make one wonder if there was really a being that was of this size that could wear such armor, or if it was just made large and always had the ability to shrink to fit it's owner. To think of all the mysteries that this item must hold..."
As he spoke the man would take a couple steps toward the helmet and seemed to have already for gotten about Evelyn's presence, she might even notice that towards the end it seemed more like he was speaking to himself rather than her. He was now lost in thought just staring at the helmet.
