After taking some time for herself, there were a few people on Eve's list that she wanted to see. With the incoming war building and the constant chaos of the Dead lands, she had a few ideas in mind to help while she was there, as well as after. Starting with seeing an old friend. It would be easy enough to find out if he was around or available.
And so she heads to Anubis's place!

Anubis' place is about as usual, though more of a mess than usual. He isn't home though! One of his Jackals is sleeping in the living room.

Eve raised a brow as she entered and took in the mess.
“Looks like someone had a good time.” Fight or party didn’t matter. The fact one of the jackals was asleep when she entered the living room took away any sense of danger he might have been in. She knocked her knuckles twice on the doorframe with a quiet whistle to try and wake the jackal.

The Jackal's eyes open and it sniffs a few times. Yawning wide before rolling over and off it's bed. Flopping on the ground and huffing as it pushes it's body up and walks calms over yo Eve, stretching out each leg with the first step of each before making it to Eve. It begins panting as it waits to see what Eve wants to do.

One day, Eve will have a house with a huge yard full of puppers. And it will be glorious. Grinning as the jackal made a grand show of languid stretching, she chuckled and tilted her head to one side in a gesture of 'let's go.'
"Hey there, sleepyhead." She holds out a hand for it as it nears before stroking its head if it gives the okay. "Have you seen Anubis lately?"

The Jackals sniffs her hand and lets her pet his head. When she asked about Anubis he'd bark and start trotting off. It wouldn't take long to find Anubis passed out near his pool in the back of his house. He was still wearing some of his Anubis armor.

Only some? Maybe partied too hard, and more too exhausted to move from wherever he crashed.
“Thanks.” Eve nods at the jackal and let’s out a loud wolf whistle as she walks over to Anubis, vaguely wondering if he’s going to fall in the pool.

Anubis doesn't fall! and is only wearing the pant portion of his armor, no boots, or top. His hair is also wildly undone and messy. He sits up quickly rubbing sleep from his eyes as fast as he can to stand up and see what the noise is about. Taking a half hap hazard transformation with just a Jackal head as he looks around.
"It is I, Anubis; Lord of the Dead. What brings you to my domain?"
He says as if he has rehearsed this line a thousand times or at least said it a lot recently. His eyes still closed trying to adjust to being open in sunlight.

The joking assumption about a party flopped pretty hard when he woke. A single piece of armor, his hair and appearance as much in disarray as his home. The staggered, erratic motions and utter lack of ability to notice something nearby. The rehearsed tone of his words. It spelled a whole lot of not good.
"Evelyn Amtrum," she said in her best impression of Hermes's voice, "Daughter of Ares God of War, Earth Dragon, Hero of 244, Uncrowned Killer King, Jarl Amtrum, The Conqueror of the Dragon Slayer, Pharaoh of the Sun God Ra. Seeking counsel and, presently, wondering what happened to you."

Anubis eyes would snap open and focus on Evelyn as she introduced herself. His head would turn back to normal as he plopped back down on the chair and put his face in his hands. He'd rub his cheeks and eyes before slapping them.
"Sorry about the mess. I haven't had a lot of down time recently. I've been picking up the slack of Hades and Hel, maintaining their Underworld's and politics in their absence has been very draining even with constantly replenishing my energy."

"It's fine. I didn't exactly announce coming over." Eve took the opportunity to sit on a chair as Anubis tried to massage some sense of being awake back into his face. It surprised her that both Hel and Hades were out; picking up what was left behind explained a lot.
"You okay?"

"I will be."
He pulled his face out of his hands and looked at her.
"Well while I have down time, what can I do for you? Want something to drink?"

She nodded at his assurance. He knew his limits.
"Sure. I was actually surprised I caught you with free time." She grinned, though the expression faded after a moment. "As much as I enjoy spending time with you, I did want to talk to you about something." She brushed some of her hair behind her ear, preventing it from falling into her sight.
"Part of the reason I'm back is to go for a godright. I'm looking into what's got an empty seat. A war god, so there's probably not many." Again, two ish years. Her knowledge was stale.
"And what you'd think about it. You've had experience at it, without spending decades with the responsibilities."

Anubis would raise a brow at her at what she wanted, but wouldn't question it. She was Mathew's daughter ambition came with the territory. And generally saying it so casually probably did too.
"A War God, huh? Not a hero of battle, or even beast? A fully named God is pretty hardcore when it comes down to it."
That was the only clarification he really needed to be honest.

She pretty much ignored the raised brow. She couldn't exactly be a symbol of agriculture and help up north, but it also was a reminder that there was life after war. Usually.
"I wouldn't say no to a hero or beast," she admitted. "I wanted to be one, before." You know, before dying. Twice. Now it was just a matter of refocusing that ambition.
