Katsu's Epic Journey for Epic Loot 2 (Leon, Yanmei)

[Qi Yanmei]

Yanmei floats to the side so she's out of the way.

[Zack Asiv]

"Hmmm, I'll go first, just so we have a frame of how this is played."

Hermes would turn towards his target, toss a sword up and catch it by the blade, as he held his right hand at a throwing angle. Stepping with his swing he would release the blade spinning and flipping towards the target! (Roll: 25)

The sword would strike one of the rings outside the bulls eye garnering Hermes 25 points as announced by one of the judges. Hermes would give a rowdy. "Oh man, so close." As he shrugged and walked over to give Katsu room to toss.

[Qi Yanmei]

Yanmei claps politely, but she's totally confident Katsu can do better!

[Katsu]

Katsu throws his own sword, not nearly as fancily, and it lands a little further off target. (Roll: 20)

"Hm. Best two out of three?"

He's never thrown a sword before.

[Zack Asiv]

"We will tally the points of all three throws, whoever has the most wins."

Hermes would heft another sword and throw it at his target, this time it would land a tad low on the target, and Hermes would chuckle at having fun and the competition at hand. (Roll: 18)

[Katsu]

This time, Katsu takes his sweet time preparing, making sure he's good and ready to throw this sword in order to not embarrass himself.

It lands in the same spot on the next target. (Roll: 20)

"...this is different than I'm used to. I can't seem to get the hang of it."

[Qi Yanmei]

"Nothing wrong with consistency!"

At least when someone else's inconsistency is working in your favour.

"It all comes down to this one! Go, go, go!"

[Zack Asiv]

Hermes chuckles.

"Yes consistency is actually much better when it comes to competitions."

Hermes would grab his last sword and hold a hand up in front of his face.

"Like so."

He would hurl the blade into the direction of the target once more, though the sound of hitting the target would not come! He threw it over the target missing entirely. Laughing Hermes would shrug.

"Not as good as I thought I was, huh?"

[Katsu]

“Consistency.”

Katsu nods. Ok. At least if he doesn’t do worse, he can still win this.

Taking oh-so-careful aim, and drawing upon everything he’s learned, Katsu throws his last sword.

And gets exactly the same result. (Roll: 20)

“....”

He’s speechless.

[Qi Yanmei]

Yanmei starts laughing hysterically! Both because it was the exact same throw every time AND because she was stoked he won.

“Incredible!!”

[Zack Asiv]

Hermes would laugh and hold out his hands towards Katsu's target.

"As if to emphasis my point."

He'd chuckle some more then turn to Katsu.

"I guess you win. Good game Athlete."

Hermes would reach down and pluck a feather from his shoe, an metal looking solid feather that shined a sapphire blue.

[Qi Yanmei]

"Ooh!"

Yanmei's eyes practically cross as she observes the pretty shine of the feather.

[Katsu]

"Thank you, Hermes."

Katsu gives him a bow of his head in response, then takes the feather.

"I appreciate this gift, as well as the opportunity to win it."

[Zack Asiv]

"No problem, do visit more often, it's hard to find a decent challenger."

Hermes would give a polite bow.

[Qi Yanmei]

"Careful, Katsu might take up residence here." she grins and nudges him.
