The great star bore down upon two creatures at the edge of an endless and ancient stone pathway.
One was, of course, Triton, whose blue scales shimmered in the sun. Within a bag suspended upon his back weighed a curious piece of metal, found at the bottom of a body of water well explored by the islander.
The creature he stood over was a simple mainlander with hair the hue of blood, lying in a small moat filled with debris. His spirit seemed to be in a slumber. 'Twas a curious state residing upon a man of many legends.
"Forgive my intrusion," Triton spoke, praying his voice would waken the fellow. "But I wish to speak to you, for I have heard many great tales that tell of your triumphs!"
