The tip of the blade touched her skin, and drew blood. He carved a symbol into the back of her neck. It could pass as cryllic, or something. But it was just a personal marque that identified. The weapon was sheathed then and he started walking away from her. It was done, and the deal was sealed.
"You'll be paid an amount before monday, as you start on monday. I'll find you. I'll know if you tell anyone about this, and if you do. You'll learn a few things about the combustibility of the human body. I hope you won't force me into resorting to that. It'd be quite annoying."
Out of his pants pocket, he dropped a small leather bag, about four or five grams worth. Inside it was a greyish powder. The bag was held closed by a red string, on the bag, the same symbol that was on the back of her neck, was painted in red. He kept walking.
"You'll deliver that to school, to a Mr. Jason King. That's your first and only job for this week."
With that, he disappeared into the darkness. Like a shadow that was never really there. One could probably convince themselves that he was never there, if he hadn't left the bag, and the marque behind.

Closed eyes winced as the blade touched her skin. He could kill her right now, with such access to her neck, but no, he was marking her. A brand of sorts. Telling her and anyone who saw that that she belonged to him. But she wasn't to tell anyone. Not even Aureus.. That is, should she find him again.
Chi looked up just as the shadow walked away. She got back to her feet and stepped forward, bending down to retrieve a small bag with a symbol on it. She would find later as she examined the back of her neck with a mirror that it held the same symbol of her marque. What did it mean? Was it simply for identification, or something else? Only time would tell. Now, to find this Mr. Jason King..
