He would say in a softer voice. He would let out a sigh and rub his head.

He would never admit it... but the mans heart strings were pulled in that moment when she said she had no Guardian.
"Come on inside then and let's get you some hot Chocolate, I might even have something for you to eat. I'll check."
He would say moving out of the way to let her in. If she went inside, he would close the door behind her and promptly get the little poor child a nice warm cup of hot Chocolate!

Door closed! Even if Val pushed with all his might the door would easily slide shut.
Marin however would notice the room was COMPLETELY different from Val's where Val's room looked like it was completely tailored for him, this room looked like it was tailored for the large man. A Vindicta warrior. There were training dummies in one corner, no closets, only an extra door leading to the bathroom. Other than that his entire cabin looked open. The other major difference was that this room seemed to have a small kitchen. Which is where the man would look to find some snacks for the young girl, and inside one of the cabinets he pulled out a small prize... it was a small delicious looking cake. He would cut out a slice and place it on a plate for Marin.
This little girl reminded him of his cousin that he used to care for many years ago. That sweet young blonde, hard headed girl... she was always just as curious and unafraid as this little one. But for now he would shake those memories from his head.
"My name is Kirin. Kirini Hall. What is yours little one?"

"Marin." she'd say, though her attention seemed grabbed by looking around his room still.
That is, until she noticed the cake. Her eyes would widen excitedly!
"You don't look very happy. Did the shadow man make you come here too?" she'd ask curiously.
He was very different from Val, who seemed like he'd meant to be here. Kirin just seemed really cranky.

Marin would nod, looking over at the door after the knock. Even as he was heading for it, she figured she'd give her expert child opinion.
"Your boss is right. You look really cranky. Did you have a nap?"
Even though she can hear him speaking to whoever's on the other side of the door, she just keeps talking.

He would say simply, both to the little girl and to other man behind the door. Then to Val more directly.
"She said she didn't have any guardian. I'm not going to let some pervert 'take care' of her. So get lost. I will take her to the captain to see if we can find her family, after she has finished eating."
Then with that he wold lock his door. He didn't need some pedophile trying to kick in his door, furthering harming the young child's mind. Some people were real sicko's, and if this girl wasn't here he would teach that freak a lesson.
