(Max is invited, and Aureus if he wishes.)
A kid wearing a mask breathed hard. Cold water rained down from the heavens, soaking the concrete jungle. The curved claws clutched around the boy's throat. A grin in the twilight, and the flash of teeth, then the bite. The scimitars pierced the flesh of the throat like a thousand spears, puncturing, biting, until the monster tore the ragged flesh off with the teeth, pulling the right common carotid with it. Blood sprayed, and the body went limp.
The sudden destabilization of pressure in the heart caused it's ventricles to collapse completely, ceasing all activity.
Quickly, the brain died from the lack of the precious oxygen needed to produce the ATP that he needed to survive. Cellular respiration ceased on a massive scale. The mask fell off the kid's face. The vision of the monster would seem to haunt him until the mortician moved the jaw closed, and the eyes shut. There was no way to contract the pupils.
There were four dead, all masked. One was still alive. And approached from behind, almost silently. His sneakers rasped on the slick cement, then the crack of a handgun resounded in the alleyway. Valekin felt the bullet go through and through. His own pupils constricted, and his mouth opened a bit, letting the fresh blood run down his chin. The bullet went through his left kidney, but the damage wasn't permanent. His eyes flashed purple, just before he turned and bolted into the boy, disarming him, and letting the weapon fall.
He tore the kid apart with his bare hands, naught leaving a single organ intact.
Then he felt something.. a presence, one familiar, nearby. And the other not so familiar, but reeked of a familiar place. The school.

'So I just did me some talkin' to the sun - And I said I didn't like the way he got things done - Sleepin' on the job - Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'
Max murmured words along with the soft voice of the man in her earphones that were connected to a small cassette player stuffed in her left jean pocket. What was she doing in this unfamiliar portion of the city called downtown? Well, nothing too important. Originally she had just come to grab a bite since she still hadn't found a place to stay yet and eating out was her only option, but after finding herself in the ... uglier side of the downtown core, the one she didn't intend to go to, Max had had to turn around and go all the way back. She hadn't exactly made it yet because she didn't know the downtown area of Long Beach all too well, but she was able to navigate her way back toward where she had originally come from. Now she was going through a narrow alleyway.
From past occurrences, Max knew quite well that alleyways weren't exactly the best places to resort to, whether you wanted a shortcut or not, but she had used it earlier today when coming and it shouldn't have been visited since then. So she went into the alleyway under the impression that it was safe to, but as she advanced toward the middle she encountered something that wasn't there before. It was some sort of substance: thick and nearly dried on the concrete pavement, it had an oddly stomach-turning smell to it as well. This alley had been disturbed. Accompanying the awful smelling puddle was something else, it was of solid nature but still somewhat soft, so Max bent downward to give it a more thorough examine. Her eyes not being very good in dark places, she let her hand crawl up and down the object until she finally found something that outright shocked her: fingers.
As she jumped back up the earphones fell out of her ears and she took several steps backward and attempted to catch her breath. This was a person! Or at least a small fraction of one...

Lightning crackled across the sky. He smelt ozone. Someone walked down the alley, in plain sight. She stooped and investigated a pool of blood, and realized just what it was. He shook his head when she started backwards. Shocked by her own discovery. The maniac slid off of a dumpster behind her. She had passed him without even knowing it, so oblivious to her surroundings.
"What is it with women and stumbling on my handiwork?"
He cocked his head to the side, letting soaked sable tresses hang free, towards the hard unnatural earth. Lightning arched across the sky again, and let her get a mere glimpse of his person. A tattooed, scarred, bloodstained monster. There was a hole through the back of his trench coat, fresh with gunpowder. His skin on his abdomen and back also had the same gunpowder residue on it.
He had been shot just recently, through and through. And yet he was fine.
"Do you plan on telling anyone about this? Because well... my business of revenge, is my own. Not the state of California's, and not the nation of the United States."
From behind his back he produced five masks, all of which were porcelain white. Blank with a mere bridge for the nose, a few slits for breath, and holes for eyes. A ghostly mask, just like the victims. He dropped them onto the cold hard earth, and let them shatter and scatter.

At the sound of another person in the alley, Max turned on her heel to face the source of this assertive voice. He called this handiwork? As far as she could tell from her semi-inspection, he, if this was indeed of his own doing, had dismembered a person! Max tried to breathe but it was difficult. The thick stench of blood prevented any air to come in through her nostrils so she began to inhale through her mouth, her heart thumped rapidly in her chest, Max wanted to just run for her life before she met the same fate as the corpse behind her in the alley but she feared that he would catch up to her and sooner then later her life would end !!
Yes. Even being a former employee at a hospital, Max still fell victim to anxiety when surrounded by blood. And it didn't help that she was accompanied by an unnerving person either. Max was unsure of how to answer his question. Would she make a promise that she wouldn't be able to keep? If this guy had just killed a person, of course she would let the authorities know about it! Her mind was producing a hundred thoughts per second, she felt like she could nearly have a heart attack...
"I... I..."

Ever since the opening of Johnathan's restaurant, Aureus had been curious as to what exactly Valekin was doing in Long Beach. From their previous encounters it was clear that revenge was at the very top of the list, but why was it taking so long? In addition the Pillar had a feeling he was involved with Asiv in one way or another.
And so, it was this day that the schizo had followed the Serb. He had done his best to stick to the shadows, and avoid interfering in matters that didn't concern him. Unsurprisingly, the ex soldier had murdered once again, though this time Aureus had gotten to see everything play out. Horribly gruesome, but he had a thicker skin than most people.
Standing on the roof of the apartment building, he peered down to catch any new developments. Blood, guts, intestine, Valekin, and...Max? Panic overtook the Junior at once, shaking his senses. What on earth was Max doing here, hadn't she left at the beginning of the year? If he touches her... Hey! Relax, he won't do anything unnecessary. How can you say that after watching what he just did? Look, if anything happens we'll get involved. There's no fire escape here though, so... There is however an open dumpster... Just wait.

He rolled his eyes. She was pathetic, he felt like leaving, bringing the person that had followed him to a nearby apartment building, so he could break into an empty apartment without a trace, and wash a bit. But, he remembered the weapon that lay in pieces on the concrete, and their little knives that they tried to defend themselves with. He had killed them with much greater skill than they would ever hope to possess as mere thugs.
He walked past her, giving her a sneer, to pick up a little bloody knife with his claw tips on the right hand. He let it fall to his fingertips, and gave a quick, light spin, into a horizontal throw. The knife would fly end over end, and imbed itself into the side of the building the boy was watching him from. Very near the top, from where he was being watched.
"You can come down now."
He said rather loudly. He circled the girl that was scared out of her wits just a tad. His head lolled to the side, and smiled at her.
"Even if you didn't tell the authorities, they'd find out sooner or later, and there'd be an article on the news as soon as news teams get here. But wait... you've seen me. Haven't you? I admire your sense of justice, but.. it's foolish."
He trudged closer to her, his eyes gleaming with malice, and power. He could destroy her world, tear it apart just like that boy. It would be like a piece of delicate papyrus in a shredder.
"These kids would have done far greater damage to other people, than I have ever done to them and their families. Just like their leader, done unto mine. I deserve what I want."
He was right, and entirely psychotic. Which made it look wrong. The principal was correct, they would harm so many more people with their actions, and if they ever achieved the level of a terrorist organization like they once were, it would tear apart L.A.. His methods however, were wrong, but effective.

Max stood there, stiff as a tree, she held her breath for a good portion of time and only took in little bits of air when it was really necessary. She had done many bad things in her life, or at least enough to amount to that much of a normal person, but did she really deserve to die?
Max just stood there as he walked around her and picked up a knife. She didn't know why she hadn't even attempted to run while he was picking it up, now that he had a weapon it made him even more dangerous, but Max couldn't find it in herself to try and move. She didn't want to make a mistake that would trigger the bloodied man to do the same to her as he had done to these bodies. As he walked around he seemed to have been conversing with someone who wasn't actually there, at least not that she could see anywho, but afterward he spoke to her as well. Was he trying to find a way to justify what he had just done?
Max made an attempt to speak but she found herself incapable. Not only incapable of speech, but movement, she was basically too focused on ... nothing, to even think.

Aureus' foresight and attention to detail were probably his strongest skills. Valekin was faster, that much the Pillar had already learned. But Aureus' foresight and attention to detail were probably his strongest skills. Valekin was faster, that much the Pillar had already learned. But that didn't matter much when Aureus already knew what was coming. The Serb knew he was there, and when the knife came flying in his direction, the boy didn't flinch. The angle wasn't extreme enough, he was safe. I love these glasses he thought before replying to Vale's call.
"I rather like it up here. This situation is disturbingly familiar, no? Now...you don't plan on hurting that girl, do you?" He asked, looking down into the alley. The teen felt the question was required even though the answer was a given. He hadn't any more reason to hurt Max than he had Chi.

"Not unless she does something stupid Mr. Hayes."
Yes, he knew the boy's name. He recognized the voice and speech. The maniac moved around the alley, until he settled on a nice box, that barely had any blood on it. He strummed his claws together, making a tapping noise. He was waiting.
For her to regain her composure. She was scared right now, unable to move. Soon the shock will subside, and she'll be thinking again.
Just kill her, she's seen your face.
That wouldn't solve anything..
Soft spot?[/color]
No, she's just innocent, thus far.

So there was someone else nearby. With that in mind, Max was able to maintain a small pea of sanity which kept her from just totally going insane and trying to bolt. With her better judgment still intact and slightly processing, she knew that the man was likely faster then her, and if he got his hands on her she might would meet the same fate as his earlier victims. That Max didn't want so she tried to stay still long enough to try and think of something to do that wouldn't end up with her and death put together.
So the brunette began to take all things into account, she could try and throw herself at him... no, her bodyweight couldn't possibly match his own and he did have a knife. So maybe she could flee into the nearest dumpster... b-but it was a dumpster and she really didn't care, she didn't want her gravestone to read: 'A Loving Daughter & Friend who died in a trash can'. Well... it probably wouldn't say anything like that no matter where she ended up dying, but still. She would be able to go in peace if she knew her last moments weren't going to be spent in a pile of black bags and what not.
I c-could always just try and run... succeed or not... that sounds like a semi-good idea, r-right?
'Not unless she does something stupid Mr. Hayes.'
Aww, s-shit!
Now sweat bubbles were finding their way down the sides of Max's face. Okay, she had two options here: take her chances and do something "stupid", like trying to run for her life which she would have already if the boy hadn't picked up a knife, or just continue standing there waiting for luck to act in her favor... or not...
Max looked at the exit before her out of the alley...
It's just a few feet away... just a few...

"Hey, Maxy! Don't worry, you'll be fine, trust me," Aureus called down to his old friend, though it was probably safe to assume that they weren't friends at the moment. Not since she left, and to think, it was all because of him, or only partly. How was it his fault that Max had fallen in love with Levi, despite how much she denied it, and he just so happened to share the boy's body? I wonder how that would work out. Me going out with Max and you with Chi. AHA! So you do have feelings for her! Did. It's been a while since then. I was just wondering. Why're you so worried about her then?
It was kinda stupid to be arguing about something like that considering what was happening below him, but he was pretty sure there wasn't any real danger.

"As I was saying... it wouldn't be wise to stick around and describe me to the cops. As... it'll be hard to disprove your own involvement in this, and.. if they do catch me, unlikely, they won't be able to hold me long. And I'll know one of you told them what I looked like."
He snickered to himself. Starting to trounce off down the alley, stepping on a corpse. A loud crunch resounded as he walked over it as if it was just a piece of paper. The sheer idea of people just walking into his artwork just after he's finished, or while he's in the middle of it, made him nervous. The luck or lack there of these people must posses has to be astounding.
Of course.. he knew he had been followed by Aureus, but he let that occur. The boy knew just as much as he did, that if he told the cops anything, it'd be fruitless. The girl, did not.
"They're all ants, ants that must be crushed."

"Hey, Maxy! Don't worry, you'll be fine, trust me,"
The brunette heard someone say from a small distance. Someone was here in the alley, or close enough to seem within the alley, that knew her name... and he sounded awfully familiar, but given her current state, fearful of any and everything around her, she wasn't able to put her finger on it. She wanted to believe the voice but in the nothingness in the back of her head, she didn't... she couldn't.
Someone had just been torn up by another person in front of her eyes and there was nothing and no one there - besides that invisible ( or so he seemed for the most part since he wasn't anywhere in her line of sight ) person - to reassure her that she wouldn't be just another victim of this terrible man's hatred toward what appeared to be everything.
Max swallowed the wetness in her mouth, as it washed away the dry clouds of air in her throat she began to breathe rushingly again. She closed her eyes for a moment and then inhaled a breath like it was going to be her last one, and then... she ran. She just ran toward the exit of the alley, her feet were clearing the rigid path of pebbles and what not and she felt like she was going so fast that nothing could stop her, but Max wasn't actually running very speedily. Her body felt heavy and there were tears streaming down her face now - what if that man reached out, grabbed her, and ripped her apart?
She couldn't bare to think of that for a moment longer, she just continued to run and tried to think happy thoughts... maybe that invisible person she had heard before would come down and protect her, or maybe, just maybe due to her foolish attempt to flee, she would die...

After another "scary" comment, Valekin began to walk off. Had he finally lost interest in the scene? After all, he had said the last time it annoyed him when people stumbled upon his feeding. Things might have been fine, but it seemed Max didn't think so, because she took off like a bat outta hell. Fuck! She's running! "Max! Wait!" the Pillar called out as he peered down towards the open dumpster. "Goddamnit..."
There was no time to see if the Serb would react badly, so Aureus decided to move. What he did after pulling himself out of the dumpster would all depend on Vale. Would he chase her down, or keeping walking away?

"Best stop her Mister Hayes, before she makes herself look insane. No human being... has claws... or fangs.. do they?"
Hye ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
He laughed as he walked away, blending into the darkness like a wraith of doom. He walked and hoped Hayes stopped her, for her sake. He wasn't being charitable, or anything like that. He wasn't that kind of person, he was the kind of person that didn't like the attention from the authorities. Of course, his own behavior wasn't consistent with what he wanted. That's called insanity.
"The night is very treacherous Mr. Hayes, very."
