Gear interrupted (Event open to 2)

[Lucifer]

The Shepard grumbles and sighs, but doesn't stop them.

[Allison Kazim]

Ali continues eastward towards the east! She keeps an eye out for anyone else out and about as they go.

[Donovan]

Donovan follows!

[Lucifer]

For the first few hours, things are fairly uneventful. However, as the sun began to descend they would see smoke on the horizon. From the looks of it, it was far more than a bonfire or something along those lines.

[Allison Kazim]

Ali stopped for a brief second at the sight of smoke, eyes narrowing at the sheer amount of it as she holds an arm out to try and prevent Donovan from rushing right away.

"We're checking it out. For now, we stick together." She was already on the move, barely getting the words off before rushing to find a good view of what was ablaze, and if there were people in trouble.

[Donovan]

Donovan was just about to take off in a dead sprint when she stopped him AGAIN! GAH!!!

"Fiiiiiiine."

He pouted and followed.

[Lucifer]

When they arrived they would find what was once a village. The buildings were all burned and destroyed, bodies of villagers lay scattered about the ruins, and in some cases, pieces of villagers were all that could be found among the mangled bodies. Large craters dotted the area around the village as well as if parts of the land itself were destroyed.

[Allison Kazim]

Ali stopped at the sight of the village, drawing her spear in silence, grip as tight as her lips pressing together at teh smell and sight of the village. This...this was recent...and horrible.

"There...might...be survivors," she managed quietly, not looking at Donovan but speaking to him. "Keep that in mind as we go. No killing anyone. We need information."

He was welcome to bloody them as long as he didn't die.

[Donovan]

Donovan had seen enough sites like this one. But it never did get any better... through gritted teeth he would respond.

"I'll do my best."

He would then move off away from her.

[Lucifer]

It was grim work, but there were no survivors. Every man, woman, and child lay dead within the village. Everything of value stripped away or destroyed.

Tracks would not be hard to find, they made no effort to hide them. And they lead deeper into the wasteland, where plants no longer grew and the water was fetid.

[Allison Kazim]

It was too much to hope, but she had to try and keep it. The further they went into the village, the more certain Ali knew otherwise. Catching sight of the obvious tracks, she'd nod to them, letting Donnovan have the space she thought he needed.

"They're not trying to hide...let's go." There were multiple levels of disgust in her voice at the carelessness, the mindless violence and death, the barbaric nature of it all.

She follows the tracks!

[Donovan]

She didn't need to tell him as he started immediately following the footsteps! This was too close to home. There may not have been any survivors here, but there were no survivors at the massacre that he was taken from when Vindicta attacked the border town he lived on as a small child. So he knew better, that if there was any last chance for survivors it would be with the monsters that did this. He was charging forward only slow enough to allow Ali to be within eye sight. Otherwise he was dead focused.

[Lucifer]

The tracks would eventually lead them to the bandit's camp. They would see many of the bandits talking and drinking. A few survivors were in a large cage being loaded onto a truck. All young attractive women. A few other survivors, primarily injured or elderly were being dragged around by some of the bandits. Though they all seemed to be wearing vests with weird red cylinders on them.

The largest of the bandits was off to the side talking to a much smaller person near a large crate. As of yet, they have not been spotted.

Ali's distaste and anger was visible as she saw the depravity before her. People in cages and dragged around like animals. These people were unreal. And she had a bad feeling about the ones in the cage. But the vests were strange, as expected, and she wasn't sure if it was to defend the bandits or discourage retaliation.

"I'm going to get closer." She nodded towards the large bandit and smaller man, taking a step back to not be immediately seen. Her hands clenched into tight fists at her sides. "We need to know what we're dealing with before we can free those people." Even though she waned to break the cage open and free the others. It wouldn't do any good if they got themselves captured in the process.

She looks for cover to help her circle towards her targets, hoping to hear something worthwhile!

[Donovan]

"Do what you will."

Was all Donovan would say as he continued walking towards the two. He wouldn't call out to them or announce his presence. Just walk straight towards them. He didn't care what Ali would do right now, all he saw was red, and he was ready let loose his wrath upon these people. If he was meant to die this day, he would take as many of them down with him as he could.
