All Ali could manage at first was a slow blink as the dark haired man came into the door, acting as though they weren't there before he seemed to just face plant with abandon. Definitely not hte decorum she was expecting. At least the cigarette wasn't lit.
She let the others explain the situation as it was, keeping an eye on any reaction Asiv may have, or would have if he had shown his face at all. When he finally did look up at him, she wasn't sure if he was thinking or tryign to work through a concussion. She cleared her throat awkardly. No one had said not to talkk now, and if it changed the way he would think about things, why not do it now?
"Excuse me, President Asiv?"

Asiv would turn his head to Ali and fold his hands on the table as he took a small breath.
"Go ahead."
Violet and Locke would also turn to look at Ali, the room was waiting.

No pressure. Clearly.
Ignoring the fact it felt like the room really was waiting for her to speak and the heaviness with it, the mage took a single step forward when given permission to continue, bowing once with her hand over hear heart as she explained.
"My name is Alison Kazim; I was one of the trainees saved by the experiments while looking for intel on the weapons. Agent Winters explained the choice they were given; I would like to claim responsibility for them to prevent an unnecessary extermination. I understand that they can be a danger depending on their programming if they're left unsupervised; I would like to join the Black Ops team to keep an eye on the situation with them."
She'd worry about her terms after hearing his response. For all she knew, he might decide she wasn't good for it.

Asiv would take a few moments to let that sit as he pulled the unlit cig from his mouth, smiled, and leaned back in the chair.
"Considering that you got a recommendation from both Violet and Locke... I don't see a reason to deny your entry into the black operations units... And from the story of everything that happened, it is apparent you are capable of taking responsibility for your actions, whatever the consequences may be."
Asiv would say as he inspected the cigarette a bit in his hands before putting it back.
"You understand, however... What taking responsibility for these experiments means? The ghost governments of the big four will know they exist, tied to your name as an agent of Cabal. Agreeing to joining the village or not should they be controlled by this... Project Judgement, or any Barker scientist that may still live, or if they turn to raiding or anything that could be illegal... It will fall on your head to end it and accept the consequences with whomever they wrong?"

Wait, why was he smiling? Not that she expected him to say no, or at least yes after more questions, but he was smiling. Which was weird to the mage who wasn't used to getting the approval of those of higher station. So she spoke respectfully, if blunt.
"From what I understand, the ghost governments of the big four will know they exist at this point no matter what. I'd rather their existence be tied to my name, having met them and seen their character for myself." She raised her chin slightly. "I'm aware of what the experiments were responsible for during the War; it's my hope it won't come to that, but if Project Judgement or some other person is able to control them, then yes, I will take responsibility and do all that I can concerning those the people they wrong." They'd gone this long being chased from one place to another with people remembering and had helped them; she wanted to see that Azure and the others were able to do so in peace without the ghost governments taking that away from them by force when they'd done nothing wrong that she knew of, brief as the meeting had been. She didn't know how she'd do it, but she couldn't imagine they'd want to be mindless weapons, either.
Now for the second part.
"But I also understand that doing this means I'll be sent home, graduated from this academy. I ask that I am able to provide some means for my family to raise them up from where they are now; I came here to do so and bring high honors home. If I do this, I want to at least be able ot ensure my family has a meal on the table every night." They'd already be seeing her come home, quicker than a lord's son, but with fewer honors to go with it. That would raise too many suspicions if they suddenly jumped rank that much.

The President would take a moment.
"Ayatlan more or less would demand some sort of explanation..."
This made him ponder for a moment before snapping his fingers.
"Very well. Alison Kazim has spearheaded a breakthrough in a top secret R&D project. While still requiring much more research before development can even hope to get off the ground Cabal's official stance is to push her through to Capitol R&D to see this new passion project to the end. This should be enough to raise your family and keep from too many questions being asked. Excuse enough to make sure no one wonders why you report to the capitol so often, or vanish for long periods of time."
Violet smirks and Locke nods.

Ali let Asiv work through his thoughts without interrupting as he stated the obvious. She'd already acknowledged that some sort of discovery or breakthrough would be needed to get her any sort of station back home, and the option he suggested seemed solid enough. It would allow her to work as needed and still be able to do so without needing to produce results for Ayatlan to hold onto for themselves since it was a work in progress. As for said results...she'd worry about that when the time came.
"Agreed." She nodded, a small hint of relief and a smile on her face. That, she could go home with. And probably be peppered by a million questions from her sister.

Asiv would sigh.
"I suppose I will need to send out a notice to the Speakers for a meeting regardless. Is there anything else to report?"
Violet and Locke denied the question in their own ways. If Ali had nothing else they would return her to Cabal Academy.

Oh there was something, but not something the President needed to know about. That was for a Commander to look into.
"No sir." She shook her head.
