Personal Hell (Adam/GM)

[Sage Sudeki]

Sage had been summoned to the Sudeki Temple, this always means he has some sort of Vanguard mission, some dumb shit that is probably near suicidal. He had been doing this sort of thing since he was ten years old. It's been well over eighteen years now and he still hasn't paid up his due with the Clan. Now they want him to check on some reported Katashi activity. Of course there is Katashi activity, there is always something you could call Katashi activity. Some bandit raid seemed extra brutal, cannibals leaving disfigured enemies alive, or some extra large person was seen minding their own business.

It was dumb, but Spike would do it, it was his job. For helping Kamui Katashi, a runt of their clan escape, survive, live. For being his friend, Spike was labeled a traitor, but due to his relation to the main branch of the family he was given leniency in a time of war to dedicate himself to be this suicide soldier. It was a personal hell he would never escape, he would do it until it killed him. That was the deal, the only way out was to either kill all the Sudeki, defeat Leon, Kentler, or Grave Sudeki in a challenge of combat, or die.

"Tch, where the hell is this place again?"

Spike checks his information!

Spike's been told that there's been several patrols that have been attacked towards the north of the Sudeki borders, closer towards the Deadlands territories. While there is no exact spot that has been determined to hold the attackers, the reports seem pretty confident that they should be somewhere between two common routes to and from #245.

Speaking of, Spike finds himself at an intersection between two such routes, one to his left, and one to his right.

The left path appears to be a little rockier, with hills and large boulders leftover, possibly from the great war.

The right path leads towards a more green landscape, dotted with bushes and trees.

Spike puts away his information and looks at each path. More border skirmish bullshit. Probably some bandit group that got too big for their breeches and decided to start attacking openly. Either way his experience was in war, and with the terrain usefully made into hiding spots and such he'd go left. Checking for abnormal signs of travel through here. Off any path, drag marks, or anything like that.

There's not many obvious signs of people coming or going off the path for the first mile and a half. However, further ahead, there does appear to be signs of wreckage, debris scattered across the trail.

There are no bodies or supplies, even though it's fairly obvious that it was a supply cart.

To the left, there's a field, with massive rocks interspersed throughout it, while to the right, there's a hill that Spike can't quite see around from where he is.

Spike would look at both sides of the road.

"This is a good ambush spot."

Spike would activate his Seikatsugan and look at both the rocks and then the hill to see if any
Aura's were currently around the area.

Aura/Life Energy Perception: While activated Spike can see a persons life energy through objects if needed adding +10 to his Perception and +10 to his Energy.

There are two.

One is behind a rock to his left, off in the field a little, whereas the other appears to be underneath the hill, suggesting a cave of some sort.

Spike didn't think the cave would be going anywhere so he decided to make his way as stealthy as he could to the field giving it a wide birth so he can get a view of the person behind it before they heard him. Hopefully.

The person behind it doesn't move. Well, aside from barely breathing.

As Spike makes his way around the rock, he spots a younger man lying against the rock, eyes closed. His breaths are coming slow and shallow, and even in the few seconds he is observing, the man's breathing slows considerably. His left leg and arm are gone from the elbow and knee downwards, respectively, while his right arm has been crushed beyond recognition. Blood flows freely from cuts across his head and mouth.

Now Spike would rush over staying low. He didn't have any way to help this poor person, but their wounds were extensive. Some sort of animal attack? Qi Beast possibly? It doesn't make sense he'd get away in this state from a predator. He needed to inspect him closer, but he could be a cornered and injured wolf himself.

"Hey, hey can you hear me?"

The man wheezes, and opens one eye to look at Spike.

It looks like he's struggling to keep that eye open.

"Keep your eye closed, conserve your energy."

Spike would reach into his jacket and pull out the bokken handle. Grabbing the guys and holding it in his hand and channeling Qi through his hand into the handle to turn it on. Spike would help the guy stab him with the blade, he could take the damage for now, but he needed the guy to have some energy for now. Using his Aura to make sure the damage was enough.

Modified Bokken handle +5 Energy - Twice per thread Spike may conjure up a blade of energy from the handle for one post. He can heal himself for 75% of the damage that he inflicts with this energy blade. (Upgradeable)

Battle Aura - The user is covered in a black flame like aura that enhances Str, and Spd by the user's energy.

The influx of energy makes the man breathe in deeply on reflex, before coughing from the pain.

“Ahh.... th-thank you...”

~You are god damn right, thank you. You probably aren't going to survive and I helped you stab me, mother fucker.~

Was Spike's current train of thought, however he would not say it out loud.

"What happened?"

"He....he said my stuff... wasn't enough..."

The man grimaces, trying to relive the memory.

"And said... he'll take parts of me... instead..."

Well that sounded problematic, and vaguely accurate for what he was supposed to actually be looking into out here. Spike would activate his Seikatsugan again and take a look around while he went to hopefully dressing this guy's wounds.

"Large guy, looked like a brick wall that moved?"
