She would feel the eyes on her all the time all but silently and still. She knew it wasn't just her that they would be watching but the whole city was under watch and control. She wasn't sure what extent her invitation made but she certainly wasn't going to make a habit of strolling up to the gates without knowing nothing. She decided to try something else.
She just finished some dishes while Derik was on a rocker with some brightly painted toys dangling as he gently swung. Drying her hands she came to the main room of the place full of the furniture she was given.
"Kuron... If ya can 'ear me I'd like to speak with the King of 'im be available?"

Kuron would slowly form himself out of the ground. He would nod at Avice.
"He is ready for you now. Feel free to meet with him at your leasure."
With that Kuron would melt back into the ground.

"I appreciate ya, we won't keep 'im waitin' lon'. Thanks." Deciding she did not want to make a habit of that either. The sheer confirmation that he was truly everywhere didn't feel wholly comfortable. She would pick Derik up and slide him in the papoose. The tiny babe made some noises being moved she got the feeling the boy liked being moved about.
"Aye, ya gonna be a 'and full when ye be walkin'." She had started talking to the baby even if he won't respond back she hadn't too many people she could talk to otherwise.
With everyone strapped in she made her way to the castle.

At the castle Kuron would be waiting for her, greeting her with a bow and leading her to the throne room where Rai was sitting and waiting.
"Ah, welcome Miss Locke. And how kight you and the little one be fairing in your nee home?"

She bowed back to Kuron in some strange automatic response. Without thinking much on it she really felt like Kuron was almost his own entity. Even if he was a part of Rai she didn't instinctively feel to treat him differently than another person.
"Well indeed, sleepin' like babies when baby finally sleeps but better that than alertin' to every noise wonderin'if it be thief, bear, or Qi-beast with not a wink of it." She nodded. "Is more than we expected and are comfortable."

"I found something that has caught my interest. My lead takes me Ancient languages and old caves further into Prota's territory. I wanted to ask a request of yarself to see about granting me some kind of passage through." She lowered her gaze. "Seein's how I know yar eyes are watchful I feel I don't need to take up much of Yar time explainin' in much. Aye?"

Rai would smile coyly.
"I think I know the gist of it, yes. I don't have a problem with you leaving, I will make arrangements for you so that you shouldn't be questioned while in Prota territory, and if you would like I can have Kuron find a suitable babysitter for you while you are away. That way you aren't taking the young babe into danger."

"Hopefully there be no danger, but aye that is preferable." She folded her arms. "Yar resident Craftsman, Xapham, has been 'elpful in my investigation. I am unsure what I will find but I have a feeling he might know more about where we are goin' most of all." She mentioned the compliment as not much more than to give praise and credit where it was due.

"Aye..." she was trying to find where to go with this can of worms as they bursted open and have scattered in all directions of her mind. However, she wasn't good at being so subtle. "Why did you break his legs?"

"Because he waltzed in here an challenged me for my throne. So, not only did I beat him, I utterly destroyed him. Now, he has the one thing he lacked when he came here."
He would say leaning back in throne completely unphased by her line of questioning.

"Aye in this world we live in ya need to he 'ard." She swallowed a bit of courage to say what she wanted. Her voice was calm and firm as she chose her words carefully. If he wanted to be friends then this is what Avice felt a friend would do. "While I know I have no place to give a say to any parent includin' yar own... but 'im didn't deserve that. With all due respect and even if 'im give none to me when we met... 'im just a boy, yar boy."
She didn't know Drake's or Raikotsu's whole story and even she grew up in a shit world but she always felt she did nothing to deserve her fate. None of them did. Victims in a cruel and uncaring world. "If 'im 'ave no Mother 'im need a Father, a good one, while yar still 'ere Raikotsu. If ya are anythin' like the man ya pretendin' to be with me... then I'd rethink what ya are doin'."
