Their strength leaving them before their mind starts to go. Paranoid delusions and the inability to distinguish between fiction and reality. Then once the subject dies their body is twisted and mutated into a monster bent only on consuming the flesh of anything it can get its hands on."

"Well, I will see what the blood test says. The treatment is from a very rare flower and we can not afford to waste even a single dose of treatment. We are stretched thin as it is."
He said with a sigh. The idea of adding another patient to their already strained resources was not appealing. But there was nothing he could do about it.
"In the meantime, I recommend some bed rest if you can. Are you hungry? I can see about getting you something to eat and drink if you'd like."

"It's hard to say. The Blight grows differently in different people. It can fully progress in a few hours, or take months of slowly wasting away. It seems to feed off of the negativity inside of us. So I suppose that's a question I should ask you."

Drake would go to stand on his feet and attempt to find some semblance of stability.
"So, Melody was telling me that she was out looking for this flower of yours when she found me. Said something bout how it grows in the twilight? What exactly was she talking about?"

"Are all the ingredients as difficult to acquire as the flower, or is the flower the hardest. Let's get to the brass tax, you know why I'm asking. What do I need to do to acquire everything I need to formulate a treatment?"
He saw the look on the doctors face when he asked for a cure. These people don't have anything to spare.
"And dont stress about trying to warn me about how dangerous it is, I understand. If I die it'll be my own choice, and I'll be less concern for you or your people."

"Listen, I appreciate that Doc, I do. But if this thing feeds on the negativity in me, then in is through sheer luck that I haven't been consumed yet. I'm a literal ticking time bomb. The longer I wait the bigger threat I am. I'm not separating myself from you because I don't trust you. I'm doing it for your safety. Even if I'm delusional and my 'world' isn't real. I can't risk destroying yours just for the sake of wanting to be welcome and nurtured. I got here by my own mistakes, I won't take innocent people with me."
He said firmly... even though his stomach growled. Making a definitive end to his speech.
