There were no trumpets and fanfare. The heavens did not open up when Drake stepped off of the building. The guardian simply watched as Drake made his choice. Independent of him and the truth that he was about to impart. Drake's body hit the ground hard, the lines connecting him all snapping as the world was thrust into darkness. The only thing holding it together gone, the world was lost to the darkness. The end came too quick for him to save all of the remaining souls of this world, they would be consumed. But not all. Light burst in the sky before darkness covered the realm for the rest of its dying days.
Drake would wake up on the outskirts of his home city. At the edge of the forest in a large ten-foot crater, naked and alone with the exception of a single flower, it's green bloom glowing in the night.

Drake would get up, sore he was home. People were rushing out to see the commotion. Lucky for him his nudity had long since been a concern he lost. Unlike before he knew he hadn't just dreamed everything up. That really happened. And if there were any doubts... there was Melody... she did get to see his world after all. That's when the first year would land on the flower. He knelt down and carefully dug out the flower, making sure to be gentle with the roots and soil.
"I told you I wouldn't leave you behind. I'm going to take you home and take care of you. And when you are ready to bloom, I'll make sure you do so in a place where you can carry your seeds all over this world. So that you may see it."
With that he would gingerly tuck the flower to his chest and limp back home.

He would make it safely home the rest of the way when he transplanted the flower among his roots he would find a crystal that glowed green calling to him. Reminiscent of the blood of the flower the roots would release it to his hands.
Drake is cured of the Blight! Drake now is healed by poison damage!
