[Raikotsu Sudeki]

The men looks unconfident for the first time.

"Well... honestly we don't know for sure. We just know its important. I personally think it's so the the King can track everyone who enters."

"AND I, keep trying to tell him that is extremely unlikely. No matter how strong the King is there is no way he can track so many people at the same time. I think it's a way to give strength to the land as a whole. Making it and there by us, stronger."

"In either case we aren't allowed to let you in without it. We're told to treat it like a toll for entry. But luckily it's only a one time pay. Sample of your blood today and you will have free entry into our city from now on."

[John Doe]

He clicked his tongue.

"That is where I hesitate, especially since you do not yourself know what it's for. Not that I am opposed to shedding my own blood, but as you can probably tell because let's not coy. My blood isn't exactly normal. The last thing I want is to find out your King ingests our blood to track us or something and then dies when he drinks my blood. Just full disclosure, it's some nasty stuff."

He also didn't want to give them his blood. But it was still true, his blood was not something to mess with casually, even more so than normal experiments.

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

"Bu-"

"Oh, I wouldn't worry too much."

A new voice would say cutting off James. And out through the Gate would walk a man.

"Thr King, and this land, have ingested far far worse blood than that of an experiment. Hell, back during the war I'm pretty sure he drank experiment blood on more than one occasion as well."

"So he does drink it."

He'd say wagging his finger at the newcomer.

"And that's fair, but I'll wager money he's never met one like me."

Despite everything, he couldn't help but feel some pride at that.

"I'm John, a pleasure to meet you Mr...?"

The man chuckled.

"I never said the King drank it, I just implied that, if that were the case. I'm sure he would be fine. The name is Kitsu. Mr?"

"Doe. John Doe."

He looked at the man.

"An officer I assume? Is there a title I should call you?"

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

Kitsu would laugh. The Knights seemed to be showing respect but weren't saluting.

"No no, no titles. Just Kitsu. I go by sensei to my students only. I'm the head martial instructor at the Academy here."

"Must be a good fighter. Well, nice to meet you. So what do you do with the blood then? What's the reason for it?"

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

"Its as Bradley here said. The land of Blood accepts it as it's own and grows stronger for it."

He would say with a smile.

"You will be adding your blood to making you a friend and brother to those in our land."

"Fair enough."

John's hand lept to his belt, drawing a knife that he would slash across his palm. Letting his blood drip to the ground.

"Like that?"

[Raikotsu Sudeki]

James, holding up a needle, would blink surprised.

"Uh, y-yeah... that works."

Kitsu chuckle.

"I think the King would like you for sure. Even dispite his bad past with Experiments."

Kitsu would move to the side and hold out an arm, welcoming John into the territory.

"Eh, probably not. We'd laugh, we'd joke, we'd probably try to kill each other. Dragon's, ya know?"

He'd wipe his bleeding palm on his pants before grasping Kitsu's arm, still bleeding, but whatever.

"Could have said it was with a needle first though rather than letting me use a knife. Dick."

He'd say with a laugh.

Kitsu would chuckle.

"Must've slipped my mind. Oh! Here."

Kitsu handed John a card.

"Now just show this to the Knoghts anytime you come by and you won't have to donate anymore!"

"Cute."

He snorted, pocketing the card.

"So, out of professional curiosity. How many people do you think get through your borders without donating?"

Kitsu would smile slyly.

"Only the ones we allow."
