Maintaining a lifeline (open)

Growing up he was raised with the knowledge about how important it was to maintain your tools.  They were what kept you alive in battle, and they were a symbol of the status that he had been gifted with.  It was a responsibility to keep them maintained, not only for practicality but to show that he took his obligations and responsibilities seriously.  In his case he had always enjoyed this part of the gig.  There was something refreshing and honest about it.  And so it was that Cillian hummed happily as he shined his now gleaming breastplate.  A smile on his face while he worked away, the bright sun reflecting almost blindingly off of his armor.  The sign of a job well done.

Had been giving herself her own tour with the map at hand there were points of interest she was eager to see before her debriefing.

She only tore her eyes away after being quite blinded by a reflective surface.

Realizing what it was she wasn't sure where she had wondered but the shiny caught her eye. then the details struck her fascinated.

"Remarkable work... Do they teach this level of craftsmanship at Cabal?" She had to know.

He was working on a particularly stubborn spot when he was joined quite unexpectantly. Looking up at the new comet, recognition sparked in his eyes. She was the unconcious woman he tended to at the ball.

"I am honestly unsure. I suppose they must have some craftsmen of this skill here though. It is a very large territory."

The armor however was from home.

"I am delighted to see that you are up and about. I admit I was concerned when you were unresponsive at the ball."

He didn't wish to pry to much, but he assumed this meant her recovery was going well.

When he mentioned it she lit up.

"Oooh, blood be praised I remember you!" She gave a bow. "Thank you for your help in that heinous time. Good to see you too are standing strong after such a tragedy."

Blood be praised was an odd statement, but he had enough training in court to know what that likely meant. And who her protector would likely be. Unpleasant, but a part of life. He would try to not let it bother him much.

"Yeah, my side still stings a bit if I push it to far, but it could have been much worse. I am thankful more people were not harmed."

[Dime Price]

"Prota has stellar healing technologies, Crimson Kingdom has access to these. My body treats the injuries I received like a distant dream. It is something I am going to live without while I have transferred here." She was confident and ready to deal with such situations.

[Cillian McWolfe]

"I see... well, I hope it does not prove to be too difficult for you."

She was really leaning into the Prota thing and he was not down for that. But he did his best to keep his smile and remain diplomatic.

[Dime Price]

"So did you bring this over from where you were from?" She would be referring to the armor he was polishing.

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Yes Ma'am I did indeed. I try to take good care of her and keep her in good repair, it's the least I can do. She took good care of me and helped me repel the invaders that killed many of my countrymen and tried to take my home away."

She could understand that kind of zealous devotion. He spoke about the armor like he owed his life to it, that was beautiful.

Her smile was big and wide she couldn't hide the awe in her eyes. "That is sweet." She softened her expression however. "I am sorry to hear about your people this world is a hard one. Who were they?"

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Prota."

He'd say flatly. Still polishing his armor. Prota were the invaders he repelled.

"I stopped Prota."

[Dime Price]

She was a bit shocked.

"I commend you! What strength and bravery..." She exhaled. "Crimson Kingdom is affiliated with Prota but my loyalty to them is none, I am loyal to the Bloodking Raikotsu." Her hands went to her chest and covered her heart. "To face such a foe, I could not imagine."

[Cillian McWolfe]

"With all due respect, I am not sure how much difference there is between the two. If Prota deems your troops go to war for them, Raikotsu would have no choice but to comply. Such is the nature of protectorates and their masters. Is it not?"

[Dime Price]

"Except we don't unless King Raikotsu gives the order or at least approves of the order being given." She shrugged. "It's not much of a separation but it is one none the less. I have yet to be optimized to think differently." She would admit in a lower tone.

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Maybe."

Though his tone suggested that he didn't really believe that. The big four were the ones in charge. He'd never heard of any of the territories under their control being allowed to not follow orders. And in Prota's case, they were known to treat disobedience with extermination. But he wasn't going to cause a fight pushing the issue.
