A (Thorn) in my (Pride)

[Pride]

It was wet and cold out, and most people not training or forced to be outside found shelter inside.  Not Pride though, it was just a bit of water.  Not like he was gonna melt.  He wasn't Agony.  Poor, poor Agony.  However, he wasn't deep into the training grounds he was just chilling in the courtyard.  Hanging upside down from a tree branch.  

"How long you think we gotta stick around here?" 

[Thorn Wyatt]

Almost right behind him, Thorn is hanging upside down as well.

"I don't know. What are we doing?"

[Pride]

"I dunno, I guess that depends if you mean right now, or like. In general?"

This was totally normal.

[Thorn Wyatt]

It would be, but now there were all these conditions...

Confusing.

"...both?"

[Pride]

"I mean right now I'm just hanging around. Ya know?"

He shrugged, awkwardly since he was hanging upside down.

"Long term I guess I'm just trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do with myself now. It's rough sometimes, ya know?"

But he had things he had to do, someone that depended on him. Even if they didn't admit it.

"What about you?"

[Thorn Wyatt]

"I know. I know."

He answers both statements at once. Thorn's face is starting to flush red as all the blood flows to his head.

"I'm here to learn. There's very little information about places that aren't Gaia, and we don't have an academy. Why did you come here?"

[Pride]

"It's complicated. Technically to find some people, but meh. Just looking to get some distance from the past. Where is Gaia? Never heard of it?"

He let his arms drop, just dangling and dripping.

[Thorn Wyatt]

"It is to the east of this one, directly east. Often considered the Kingdom of Dirt."

He nods.

"What people are you looking for?"

[Pride]

"Yeah, never heard of it."

He wasn't exactly worldly.

"Experiments. Apparently, they blew up some fancy party or something."

He didn't care too much about that though. Pride would start to swing back and forth on his branch, the wood creaking in protest as he did so.

"What's your story?"

[Thorn Wyatt]

"What experiments?"

Thorn tilts his head, made slightly more difficult from their positioning.

"...story?"

What are these terms?

[Pride]

"Dunno, never met them. But I'll find em. It's something to do."

With a grunt he'd swing up so he was sitting on his branch, his hair a matted mess plastering his face.

"Your story. Like, what brings you here. You said it's to learn about places outside your home. But does that stuff really matter?"

[Thorn Wyatt]

Like a monkey, Thorn scrambles to copy Pride's motion, sitting on the branch and wiping his white hair out of his eyes.

"I was told to learn by my dad."

As if that explains everything.

[Pride]

"That's it?"

[Thorn Wyatt]

"...and I don't know things?"

As evidenced by this conversation.

[Pride]

"Fair. What are you hoping to learn though?"
