Many a cycle had come to pass since Triton's arrival on the shores, yet he had not attained as he wished that which he sought to do: learn deeply about the mainlanders and their ways. Following the words of a teacher at the academy, the islander continued in this pursuit by seeking out a marketplace. The place was filled with much merriment, and many contraptions of various sorts covered every surface. As if a restless shrimp finding fish to clean, Triton peaked within every shop that happened before his path.
