This Christmas was going to be absolutely wonderful.
It didn't matter that Mr and Mrs Rhamos would be forcing Cain to spend this magical time of year with that utterly...horrendous...furious bitch, because quite frankly, he was above it now. Cain was a God now. He didn't need to concern himself with her lowly opinion.
Of course, he was more than happy to go over the whole situation, at length, with both his and her parents, detailing every last moment of it. Cain was fired up to tell them about his battle with the Harpy, how he'd managed to crawl his way all the way up to the top of the mountain, only to start battling the God of War himself in an epic struggle that destroyed the landscape around them.
Worked up in his story as he was, Cain doesn't notice her walking behind him, and he slides back in excitement!
Only for shit to go flying.

This, of course, leads to an argument of explosive proportions, only to have the fury of Annabelle, his mother, slamming his head into the table.
"STOP MAKING A SCENE, IT'S CHRISTMAS! BE JOLLY, DAMNIT!"
Cain sits in his chair, grumbling with his arms crossed. Now, his entire good mood was gone. Everything he was excited to talk about seemed boring and less... exciting. His parents and Kaia's were now carrying on the conversation without him, though it was considerably more sour than before.
Stupid Kaia ruined everything.
