How many powers should we allow a custom item to have?
1? 2? Maintain 3?
Now, why do I ask?
Alright, I'm slightly irritable, but, for the past year, I've been bullshitting potential 'item appearances', making items for other people, thinking up ideas as to what power an item should/could have. That sort of thing.
Now then: Why do it?
Because someone has to. Should be the creator, but, someone has to do it regardless.
Over the course of the next few days, I will be asking and forcing a vote from everyone.
If it lowers down to 2 or 1, I will glady refund any and all... Or perhaps, cast down all items with more than one power as 'old' items, which, are still usable, but... yeah. Like... the next few custom items will be inapplicable to 'custom powers' or something. I dunno.
If it stays at 3, I will do the work, but I have to ask the community to really start making up their own stuff... because, quite frankly, I'm burning myself out I LOVE doing this stuff for you guys, really, I do, but I LOVE rping with you guys even more.
Yeah. Thanks for hearing me out.
And yes, I'm willing to do whatever is necessary for you guys.

I've been starting to think of 3 mite be excessive to the point where its just amazingly powerful considering th ekind of loop holes one could take advantage of.
I know its best to keep an uneven number in stand points like this, but if we where to maybe set it up with 2 instead it would cause more balance in items.

I agree with this..Although I think it should be taken down to at least 1. There are many loopholes within the 3 statement. So to speak.

People already have Qi so thats one power, then get three with an item? Four powers? You have to be kidding me! I don't like the idea of item powers to begin with, but if they have to have them I say keep it to one.

1 power for an item, and one power for the person, sounds even and outright, and two people have spoken out towards this, seeing as this also suggests the 2 powers minimum i spoke about before, we need more opinions than this, even though they have great points, I believe we would like to see a few more people say something before we discuss what to do with the items that already have more than 1 power.
Future Reference:
What we could do with those is refund the money of the two extra powers to the item or however many one may have, and that money can go towards other custom items to do a set, or drugs, or paying people with jobs to do stuff for character plot development.
We could keep them as old version items, as unbalanced as that is it may keep people from arguements and such, as much as we have ourselves as a peaceful community with each other, we are still human. This effects quite a few people, so we have to discuss and figure something out.

I suggest two. After all, there isn't much items with three powers, it would not be so much of a trouble fixing everything up.
Also, having only just one power kinda restricts the creativity able to be placed upon an item, and considering that only one item of each type is allowed, I think two is already a reasonable amount of power availabilities.
... More to be added. I've been working on this project for five hours and I'm finally done. It's 15 minutes to midnight and I'm tired. So more to come tomorrow, when I'm actually more awake.

Ah and Chyrnos brings up a valid point as well. It would seem there is a slight power sturggle between the voiced votes as two people say it would be reasonable for just 2 powers and two other people say just 1.
Will there be a tie breaker?
Will nothing happen because of this?
Who will dare speak out next?

Also, I'd like to suggest that if one wants to have a 2nd power on an item, there are two ways to make it more reasonable.
1) Make it a more expensive power to level up or even get.
OR (note, I'm stressing the OR here)
2) Be more strict in what kind of powers a 2nd power can be.
For example, the first power can be an offensive type of power that damages the opponent, and the 2nd type can be a defensive type that does not damage the opponent but helps the wielder in one way or another. Take my flash gloves. My second power is the ability to create flashes. It does not direction attacks my opponent, but it helps me distract them.
Other 2nd power examples can be like being ignorant to a certain number of attacks or the ability to predict attacks for a short period of time.
Yeah...

Chyrnos bounces back with a power attack.
Hard
Cruel
Up the ass?!
=D?! (Blame Mikey)
But its also a good idea. Possibly making it extremely more expensive to get that all too important second power.
FLASH?! =D?!
Like boobs? Anyways
Maybe have the powers categorized between an Offensive Power and a Defensive power, make it optional as it is now if they want their items power to be defensively based or offensively based, why not both?
This is good material to work off of.

Personally I think 1 power is more then enough. As it has been stated you get Qi, an item power, AND the item gives you stats. I mean on 552 that is BEYOND godly. Plus it makes it easier to come up with your items and it is less work for the staff for when people want and item but don't want to do the work.

I mean, 3 seems a LITTLE overpowered with Qi on top don't you think? Now that I'm awake I can fully discuss the topic. 1 is just borderline for what people need, I mean. If your Qi is either defensive or offensive or whatever. You should make items that suit your weaknesses! But still! Giving yourself like 3 powers per item..That's just a little..Much..Like, I myself don't have any items, nor do I have a Qi. However, I still think that only 1 power should be distributed per item. Just to balance it out.

Well I am going to be honest, if we are allowed 3 I will probably go for 3 powers. Because I want my guy to be as strong as possible. Because he is the kind of character that would try and be as strong as possible.
I don't know I just think that one power is suitable for anything. I mean you can have more then one item with powers. And the powers should be something that compliments your character. Having 1 power will make people think more about what the item should do rather then try and lump a lot of stuff on to it. Having only 1 power would mean that the power would have to be chosen wisely and in the end would probably be more in tune with the character's true theme.

Its really a matter of the negative side effects.
Think about it in terms of balance, sure you can have one power, but if that power far far far outweighs a possible negative statistic side-effect, then well, what the hells the point of training, spam posts, by a shit load of items.
Theres a real simple answer to the balance issue, enforce negative effects with the positive, not quite as harsh as the positive, but enough to make them think twice about getting three powers slapped into one item, only to have three new negative side effects that could mess them up. Obviously, the more powerful an item is, the more harm it can cause.
For instance, say you had an item that made you the "juggernaut" essentially. Strong, "Impenetrable," you'd need something that was the items kryptonite. Sure, you have the physical front on lock down, but you could just as easily have Qi be twice as effective on them, or any other degree more effective.

It's been a week. Most people are still arguing over this, but majority want to maintain 3 powers per item.
I'll need 5 people to post here saying they want to re-vote, if you want to re-poll this.
Also... Anyone and everyone with a moderator account (excluding helper, since they lean more towards being simple members), has to put all alternative account votes in the 'moderator no-vote' section, and are allowed 1 vote only. Same applies to everyone else. No usage of alts, please.
Yeah.
