Past Time Information
Hobbies:
Aternity is an incredible bass player and has been playing the same 6-string fretless for thirteen years. Most often though, if in public, you will find more quickly that he is an extremely technology oriented person, and has a knack for decking and system analysis. He also enjoys sushi and inventing things and upgrades for his various synthetic body parts.
Talents:
Most often, Aternity is known for his aggressive, calm and soulful bass playing even in the most difficult of riffs or solos. It's this edge that makes him a candidate for one-time musical pieces that require the low sounds of his 6-string. Aternity also has an incredible affinity for quantum physics and mastery of wormholes and portals, as well as artificial intelligence and computer decking. Oh yeah. He's also an expert surgeon, although he's particularly sadistic in the brain.
Favorite things:
Just a couple of his favorite things include: Sushi, video games, his bass, computers in general, artificial intelligences, the way his cybernetic arm always needs a fix, and above absolute all, his girlfriend Enya McKenzie.
Mental Information
Personality:
Eeech. Aternity. Those that have seen him think of him as a loner and a complete jerk. Those that meet him think even more so. Those that can actually befriend him however, have found someone that simply won't go away. Usually, it's to tell them what they've done wrong, but then again, he's very protective. So, what about him now? Well simply put.
Sarcastic, cynical, a hypocrite when required, and completely uncaring of anyone's problems. Losing your hair? Too bad. Losing your life? If it affects Ternie in a way, he'll try to save you, other wise, have fun with that. Yeah, the guy is cold, and most of the time, he cares about his students, but they have to know what they are doing, and have a good reason for it. He loves taking risks, and failure, as there is no better way to learn.
Just try not to blow his classroom to bits.
Or a lake.
That's his job.
Really it is. Aternity enjoys needles, explosives, nanites, and anything else made to heal people in a harmful way. Yeah. Let's move on shall we? I'm tired.
Mentality:
"You can't fix stupid, but at least I don't have to hear it."
Ideal:
"Why can't everyone settle down? Chaos is silly."
Belief:
"Common sense is often not so. Better bring a sweater."
Physical Information
Build:
Lightweight chassis with a few non-standard features.
Head:
Ternie has a roundish, but rather normal looking face with a somewhat flat nose and a decently large forehead. Distinguishing marks include bright orange eyes and a pair of glasses he is almost never seen without. His hair is best described as 'uncooperative.' There is also a triple-port AI commlink and neural interface suite on the back of his neck to handle the nanites guarding against a neural breakdown. ((So much for this. If this was still true, he wouldn't be in a wheelchair would he?))
Torso:
To be honest, there's nothing really special under that coat of his, he doesn't hold a six-pack, just a flat stomach from his overall lack of weight...a lean build, no fat, just normality!
Arms:
This is where the differences start. Aternity's right arm is toned because of his martial art and Qi practice, but is by no means out of proportion or even physically strong by PHS259 standards. His left arm however, is one of two full cybernetic limbs implanted onto Aternity's body. It carries the same capabilities as his old arm, but Aternity tends to tinker with it, upgrading it's capabilities from time to time.
His left arm is completely modular, and can be hot-swapped on the go.
Legs:
If one thing is true about Aternity, it is that he can run, and run very, very well. His left leg is rather powerful, and his agility for a student at PHS259 is second to none. Aternity's right leg is another cybernetic limb, with the same capabilities as his arm...modular and upgradable. ((Due to a neurological disorder, Aternity is paraplegic, and resides in a wheelchair.))
Feet:
Size 14, normal sized, nothing special barring his right cybernetic foot.
Notes:
As you may have noticed already, Ternie is a sucker for body technologies, although most of the problems have come from portalling accidents, the nanites in his body, as well as the AI core are used for keeping his nervous system in check, which crashed during the Point Hope era. The cybernetic limbs hold the same capabilities as anyone else's organic arm...aside from the fact that they can be replaced.
Apparel Information
Head Gear:
Normally he doesn't wear necklaces, chains or anything of the sort. However, his glasses are custom built by him, which contain the school's network system, as well as a retinal laser that feeds data and a computer interface in three-dimensions. This interface allows Aternity to control technology and the world around him in a much more efficient manner. Since PH, he has worn a single crucifix on his ear.
Shirts:
Ternie's normal get up is a long nano-enhanced coat, black in color with glowing neon teal edges. The sleeves are belted onto Aternity's forearms, with the left being made of a monowire mesh. That arm is also covered with a reactive bio-nanite skin. Also look for gloves of the same color on both hands, his left embroidered with the Awren family crest.
Pants:
Same as Aternity's shirt, nanotech, with two crossing belts, and no glowing edge.
Shoes:
Size 14 boots! Hooray!
Misc:
Aternity can change up his style on a whim, although it's rather rare for him to do so. Watch out for special occasions!
Fighting Information
Fighting Style: MTAC (Momentous Tactical Attack Countering)
Years Practiced: Five
Description:
MTAC is the culmination of much of the physical research in the Awren fighting style, as well as in the department of physics, where Solaris has studied the body as well as its vital weak points. This is a far derivation of the old Eight Trigrams...the balance the family was known for, Mei Hua Quan. While the philosophy in disablement is still there, MTAC relies on turning an opponents attack against them in any possible way using the families focus on speed and agility. Additional improvements include the knowledge of not only physical weak spots in the body, but psychological ones as well...blind spots...feints, and why or how they come. Analysis is key.
MTAC stays often true to it's name sake...using the enemies momentum against them, or creating it yourself. Tactical; the ability to analyze and use the best possible counter. Attack; the mindset to follow-up, and teach the opponent his mistake. And countering...while it should be third, it wouldn't make for a good acronym. Adaptation is also part of the game...if the style doesn't work, falling back on something else is a perfectly acceptable maneuver.
Strengths: MTAC is a very well balanced and thought out fighting style, allowing the defense of otherwise powerful attacks to be completely and utterly nullified, only to have something swing back at them twice as hard. This style makes it easier to transverse from defense, to offense, or vise versa and doing it often in one swift move. Attacks are dictated by the changing of physical conditions, and you can bet any and all instances to use physics will be used against the opponent. Defense is extremely easy with this style.
Weaknesses: Sadly, there was one flaw that was deemed acceptable to keep the style working properly. When Aternity cannot gain momentum, he loses that crucial ability to counter. This means he is at a strong disadvantage to those that prefer grappling over all other styles. While physics can still be used to his advantage, the lack of momentum means that it's extremely difficult to execute counters. He will lose against many grappling opponents unless he breaks free first.
Fighting Style: Strategic Portal Fighting/Eight Trigrams Defense
Years Practiced: Twelve
The goal of Mei Hua Quan (Eight, Sixteen, Thirty-Two Trigrams) is not necessarily to destroy your opponent, but instead to cripple and disable him or her. This is accomplished by balance, agility, tactical training, as well as a clear mind and pure soul. The combination of these factors allows the user of the style to maximize their agility and precision, allowing strikes against critical nerve points and/or organs, allowing for effective disablement using technique alone, instead of pure, blunt force.
Strategic Portal Fighting is a self-taught defensive style that uses the standard Awrenian Eight Trigrams fighting style, but by combining it together with his Qi, this allows him to strike from places he might not be able to normally. However, this is a rather rare use of the style. Because of Aternity's unwillingness to fight or become aggressive, he modified the style, instead choosing to fight extremely defensively. While his attack range is shortened, the various stances he uses allows him to counter, block, parry, or dodge nearly any attack that comes at him at the sacrifice of offensive striking power.
Don't be fooled. Even this stance hurts quite a bit if you do choose to get close...a good series of hits will more than decimate an opponents nervous system, be forewarned.
History
History:
Tracking the history of Aternity Awren, now Ph.D, is a rather complex undertaking, one that isn't particularly for the faint of heart. If anyone has OCD, or can't deal with an interweaving story of portals, time and space, or is otherwise queasy with the dealings of quantum physics, this bio is not for you, and it is recommended that you leave now. If you are still with me, then please, take a chair, and let me begin my story of the eternal traveler.
For the most part, Aternity was born into a normal Russian family; two loving parents, and three siblings, all of whom were older; one brother, two sisters. His twin, Terrene, was but a couple minutes older than him, while the other set of twins were already in high school. It was simply the second subset of the second generation, and in good Awren form, they would be two of the most inseparable people you'd ever meet, apart from each other or not. Terrene and Aternity were both born with green eyes, although they would turn orange at about the age of eight, rather early for someone who manifests Qi, as the entire family had, bar Solly, who died when Aternity was only about three years old.
That aside, the brother of the second generation proved to be the brilliant one of the two twins, the other taking a more natural approach to things, once again following the Awren stereotype. Straight A's, all through school...training for a Qi after getting picked on a few times...boy, that third time was a doozy. The Grand Canyon never looked so good.
The power? Quantum Phase Dynamics. In layman's terms, teleportation. It was the true power to run away, and Aternity loved every second of having it; it was freedom at its finest. More freedom than living in the USA...or anywhere on the planet. Locked doors? No problem. Solid walls? What walls? The only weakness was...interestingly enough, swimming pools. And to this day, while he can swim, Aternity avoids water like the plague.
Through high school at Point Hope, Aternity experience much...a partial name change, a girlfriend, (whom he is still with, although separated at the moment.) several near-death experiments, the loss of two limbs, and a nuclear weapon. To be honest, it was normal considering the Awren lifestyle. Ternie was just doing his job, and having graduated from Point Hope early, and with honors, Aternity moved to California to attend college, then transferred to London, receiving a doctorate in physics, and advanced training in human physiology diagnostics, and trauma treatment. He's a field surgeon or medic.
Today?
Victory Heights University, college...whatever. He is the replacement for his oldest sibling, Lunari Awren while she recovers from then extreme strain placed upon her by the solar eclipse. Consequently, due to his training in field medicine, he is also the schools Doctor.
Let's just say that stint didn't last long. Suffering a THIRD heart attack, diagnostics revealed that his body had not fully recovered from the Awrenian Neurological Disorder. However, without a truly organic nervous system, it can no longer kill him. He has however, lost the use of his legs until a second therapy can be developed.
For now, he resides at PHS259 while he recovers, teaching about Qi, and its various uses in combat and support roles.

Misc | ARES [Materials:Miscellaneous Electronics, Sheet Metal, Customization ($2500)] - The ARES, or Awren Regenerative Endoskeletal System is the Awren families, more specifically, Aternity's final word in prosthetic enhancement technology, created after the destruction of numerous limbs both prosthetic and organic. Point Hope alone destroyed at least 4 arms, one leg, and needless to say, many hours of the green-haired Awren's time, and a part of his pride. Finally tired of the heavy maintenance on his two limbs, and on his battered organic bones, Aternity developed the ARES, a series of injections that were pre-programmed to work only with his genetic code. By utilizing the same Awren nanotech, Aternity's bones were partially reconstructed with a lightweight but strong titanium carbide alloy. In addition, Aternity's nerves were also rebuilt, as a recovery to the genetic malformation suffered several months earlier. The injections have proved to be more than successful. - However, pressing such a solution into ones body all at one time is extremely straining, and as such, decreases the users speed and agility, as well as hindering eyesight until the nanites fully integrate into their new environment. - Carbide Ceramic Ossification: Through nanotechnologic recontruction, a layer of titanium carbide ceramic allow was adapted, configured, and applied to Aternity's bones and prosthetic limbs, making them impervious to compressional damage, and difficult to break through tensional damage. Damage to his skeleton is healed much quicker than normal, but not fast enough to be of use in combat. - Hypersynaptic Nervewire: Because of the extensive damage done to Aternity by the Awren gene malformation, his nerves had to be rebuilt rather crudely by doctors while in a state of cryostasis. However, believing he could do it better, Aternity also programmed the nanite injections to rewire his body, laying out an entirely new nervous system. The result is a 100-150% increase in burst reflex speed. -Beginner Level: Default ~Unlocked~
