{IMPORTANT OOC NOTE!} This thread takes place 1 year BEFORE the current events at the school so any body who chooses to join at this point should keep that in mind. I welcome any and all. Should the invite be declined I will have the finish up sometime in the near future. I'll aim for a week and a half. Also enjoy the song while you read. ^_^ "So Long Goodbye" by 10 YearsA warm sea breeze swept through the barren sun-soaked southern California campus, students quickly departing for an afternoon of fun. Early summer days where school still lingered in its waning moments and the outdoor world beckoned with promises of relaxation and adventure that the greatest memories are made of, a dusk and dawn wrapped into one. It could easily be said that it was the most joyous time of the school year. For the seniors graduation was just around the corner and for the rest it would soon be summer break. However there was one certain student on this late day of the year who was not preparing for good-bye but saying early. Slowly Zachariah strode around the campus grounds, gazing over every little part with a sense of nostalgia. This day would be his last day in this place, his flight to India departed early the next morning and in the next two days he would be half the world away. He had petitioned for early graduation and had been granted that privilege since he had maintained one the highest marks in the school since his arrival almost four years ago. Part of him had a great regret for the little good he seemed to do here, it was bothersome to his good nature. However there was nothing really left for him here, few friends who had all moved on already and now it was his turn. Perhaps the unexpected departed of the one most dear to him had been the last straw, soft of speak, but deep down there was no way he could stay in a place like this... his peace was made elsewhere. At a leisurely pace the former long-standing pillar made his way to the tree behind the school that he so often sat beneath while attending to his various studies and works. It was a good-bye to a large piece of his life though an inanimate object it may be. He smiled brightly at the sounds of rustling leaves and chirping birds that just barely replaced the city at large for the moment. Of all the things he would miss the sights and sounds of a large city were not amongst them, he preferred simpler... more natural things. "Farewell."Zachariah spoke lightly to the tree and the school at large. He did not need some grandiose exit, massive last stand, or crying eyes... merely a whisper in the wind and a step aside. Always he had been an outsider in outlook and manner so for him to merely fade away in a sunny summer sea breeze was perfect.

Part 2 Upon leaving the school's campus, Zachariah made his way to a local cemetary for one final goodbye before his departure from Long Beach. It wasn't truly a permenant seperation as she would always be with him in his heart but he felt it necessary to say goodbye to her final resting place. As the rather tall young man ventured forth into the hallow resting place of many people's loved ones as the dying breaths of the sweet summer air faded through on their own journey of goodbye. True enough that the change between many seasons in this area was minimal but to those who made their lives here it was noticeable enough. Slowly soft steps echoed amidst the quiet walkways that lead the way through rows of stone markers for the fallen but not forgotten people that had once called this city home. Zachariah was in no real rush as the moved across the tranquil stonescape, his flight was not for several more hours and after this one last bid farewell there would be nothing binding him to this city anymore. A few more leisurely steps and Zachariah had reached his destination, a gravestone that marked his mother's final resting place. She spent much of her life travelling around the world so it was difficult for any place to really be called home, thus she had made arrangements to be buried here. Perhaps she had not planned on her child making his own way far away from this place, however she would have it no other way knowing what he had suffered... and the blame she placed upon herself for its transpiring. Zachariah slowly bent down to clear any small debris from the stone and placed a single blue rose on it. It was her favorite flower and part of his namesake. Many would speak a few words but as he crouched there, Zachariah felt a peace beyond measure pass through his heart. There was no forgiveness to be given as he had forgiven her and felt in the warmth of the sun's rays that she had finally forgiven herself. It was a shame that they could not reach this place while on the same plane of existence but at least they had made it at a long last. He smiled and placed a gentle kiss on the stone before standing to return the way he came... no goodbye to speak as she would always be with him. At the exit of the cemetary Zachariah hailed the first cab that came by a gave the driver direction to the Los Angeles International Airport where his flight to India would be departing in several hours. It would be plently of time to check his sparse luggage, as he had given much of his clothes and worldly possessions to charity, and grab a quick bite to eat. It was a tad odd to think that his time of permenancy in this place was so close to reaching absolution. While many memories rushed to the surface of his thought at this realization, Zachariah focused to quell his mind, more so the regrets in lieu of more positive moments. But there was one... something left unsaid that haunted him more than the rest... Zachariah stepped out of the cab and paid the driver with a fairly generous tip before striding into the airport terminal. This uneventful day was soon broken as a Japanese man about his age it appeared but nearly a foot shorter bumped into him. As Zachariah turned to say excuse me, he was met with an intense stare from the oddly dressed man, a moment reminscent of all the altercations at his school. Just a quickly as this moment of uncertain violence came it was dispursed by a large arrogant and happy-go-lucky grin and wave. "Peace out, brosef."With that the Japanese arrival headed off without an apparent care in the world. Zachariah smiled lightly knowning full well that he had just avoided an unpleasentry somehow, but there was the task at hand to focus on. He checked in his bags, grabbed a bite to eat, and headed into the terminal where he would wait for his flight in India to depart. It would be about a day plus layover for fueling before he would reach his destination by flight, however this would only be the halfway point of his true journey. From here it would be a network of bus and boats rides into the rural areas of the country before he arrived at the ancient temple he had stayed some time ago. No more was Zachariah recognizable was he had been in Long Beach, here he wore earthen colored robes made of simple fabric, his face was partially covered by the starting of a scraggly beard, and his hair grown so that the single braid was down to between his shoulder blades. He approached the temple master, who sat in meditation, and lowered himself beside the man to resume his journey toward enlightment and true inner peace. ... ... ... everything and everyone he'd ever known was now a lifetime away...
