This school, this city, it was like an entirely different world from New York and Phs #552. Having been a vagabond, a mercenary, and a felon it was hard to believe that here in this place he could meet anyone who was his match let alone anyone that was his superior. This was in fact the case though. The people here were like ferocious beasts without any sort of guidance. Any so called organization was merely gang in name and not in action. Not one unified front just a endless battle for the sake of battle. There was nothing wrong with that. Still if people were only fighting for the sake of fighting then would it not be best to better yourself and stand on top?
For a place that was supposed to be so sunny it sure did rain a lot. Another downpour of water dripping from the sky made all the world slippery and wet. Training & fighting. He was always training and fighting anymore. It was no longer enough anymore. His current skill set was not enough to carry him through battles anymore. It was a perfected refined tool always at his disposal but sooner or later he would become predictable to those he would call enemy.
The building was unsurprisingly not very busy. With the internet a library was not exactly as bustling as it used to be. Still only so much of the internet could be trusted and there was just something about written word that survived over the spans of time that was comfortable. Still doing ones homework was only part of the learning process. There were many other things to be done but not today, research first.
It was truely amazing how many books on fighting and violence there were. It was also amazing how many things there were on anatomy, biology, and just knowledge in general. Truly if one wanted to learn the knowledge was there, you just had to look. He picked up a number of books.
The Art of the Strike, Pressure Points the Deadly Secret, The Human Leyline, and Human Anatomy: A complex look at the neurological and cardiovasucalr systems.
The last book was not a martial arts one but as given by the title an Anatomy book. For hours he would sit and read. Trying to weed out each technique the books talked about as true or as false. As fantastic as a strike might look or sound it was only as good as its effect. He wasnt sure which were real and which were fake so he gathered the ones that were stated in each book, looked at why it would work on the antatomy and began to get an idea of some things he could attempt to teach himself. But one day of research just was not going to cut it, it was a good start though.
Bringing the books to the counter he would attempt to check them out. In order to do so he would need to get a library card... which ment contact information. This was a no go for him. Still with some titles in mind he could go to a book store next. He would also need a number of supplies and if he were fortuitous enough to find a teacher then he would be set. Still, he did take notes and it was a good start.
