ITEM issue:
I've been having this idea for an item and I just would like to run it passed some people before I start going into great detail.
Basically the item is a large arm guard/ bangles like shown here:
The idea is, it's a sort of computer adrenal injection system. The base item has no real stats apart from a misc effect such as increases blocking power or damage reduction when blocking attacks and maybe a dex debuf due to weight.
There are 10+ slots, now you can purchase cartridges of sort, these are separate items and they give you stats, for example a blue orb cartridge will give you +3 dex, you insert that into the bracelet and it acts as a holder. Similar to augment slots in Diablo 3 or other games where you can augment weapons and gear. When you insert a new cartridge or orb/computer chip it works like a printer, printing a pattern into your blood stream and giving you certain buffs for the duration of the fight. So it's like a consumable in the sense that it's a temporary buff but like a regular item in the sense that you have it forever.
This sort of gets around the need for upgrades as they're individual items, but also by passes the I'm wearing ten belts issue. Alternatively I could just have them as marbles and keep them in my pockets. Or make a necklace out of them but I thought this would be a cool idea.
Thoughts, queries and opinions are welcome.
EDIT #1:
QI issue:
I've been thinking of a qi that scales depending on who your fighting, for example, you get a strength bonus equal to 2x your opponents constitution at the cost of loosing the ability of that limb. It's sort of like a self sacrifice attack that allows you to momentarily overpower your opponent at great cost.
I know stat multipliers are a definite no no but I was thinking maybe this is something we could consider.
Again, any thoughts, queries or opinions are welcome.
