This is simply my opinion, and I'll completely and utterly understand if staff doesn't like this, but I feel like Public High School # Ground 259 should have a member clean-up, like what another board I am on, Paradigm Academy, did fairly recently.
I'm looking at the member list, and I can easily see 3/4 of the members aren't coming back any time soon. I am keeping in mind though that a sizable chunk of the members are alternate characters of many of the active members on the board, but it is something to consider... right?
Biographies could be moved to a separate board in the Archives section, posts counts could be written down and saved, and if by some obscure and whimsical chance, a person whose account was deleted comes back, a staff member could easily restore the post count and move the biography back to the main board.
Thoughts? Everyone is welcome to give their opinion.

I would agree with this as well. Honestly I'm surprised our allocated server space on this board has supported us thus far.

Nuke them. Save for a few who are long term members the rest could go. As for bios yes move them into an archive section.

Well, what paradigm did was took all of the ones who were inactive, but were known for randomly coming and going, and kept them. The ones who everyone knew weren't coming back, they were deleted. And if they ever came back, you're able to register with the same login and get all your posts back.

Also, just throwing this out there, since I was the one that suggested it, if no one from staff is available to do this, provided it's agreed upon by staff, I'd be willing to do the documenting of posts, clean-up of accounts, and biography moving.

As previously it was for stat caps and before that what year you were in.

Final Ruling -"Paradigmn High did this, so should Ground 259."*As we learned from previous branch-off sites, this is not a sufficient reason. Paradigmn High is Paradigmn High. Ground 259 is Ground 259. We both love and respect each as their own respective site. Conclusion: This reason is insufficient. -Reasons why a member purge should not be done:- Players do come and go and sometimes come again. It would be wrong to delete this.
- I have already made a ruling on this with Aureus, a former mod, in the past, about five years ago and in a similar case with Leon.
- Reason: Irreversible deletion of data is far more harmful to the site, especially for the purposes of tracking. This is also especially important for potential returners who attempt to cheat the system.
- Deletion of profiles would have the unnecessary side-effect of breaking links. In the event of tracking, even moving the profiles to an archive board would be terribly annoying if one returned and retroactively had to go through his own posts.
- We do have a small populace that goes through 259 and reads it in its entirety.
*The active offer to assist the staff by deleting said profiles is therefore appreciated, but unnecessary. Thank you for your offer. While perhaps this would help beautify the site, this is actually an item of utmost lowest priority and may never end up being touched. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but if you're looking to help out on the site, there are a number of things that need updating. - Compilation of Qi rules.
- Updating of profiles.
- Storing of old/obsolete rule threads.
- Updating of old rule threads.
This extends to: -Sports & Clubs (To be stored/analyzed for future reference) -School Captain & Pillars (to be stored/analyzed for potential future similar system uses) -Creation/Moving of Job Rules thread into the Boad Rules and History category. *Player-submitted edits of threads that should be added or compiled rule threads that have found themselves branched off will be greatly appreciated. Again, this topic has been touched before rather thoroughly and the situation has not changed for specified reasons. The old reasons are not deemed obsolete, as of this time. Thank you for being understanding.

Sorry to hijack the thread here. I already had a rant session about this to Leon.
"Storing of old/obsolete rule threads. Updating of old rule threads. "
This worries me. There seems to be two or three sets of rules. The ones that are written down and the ones that people have seemingly adopted or created out of thin air.
Has there been a rule change that was never formally issued or is there going to be one soon?

Just addressing a few things you pointed out Mikey. I'm not ranting, just putting my opinion out there. - "Paradigm Shift did this, so should Ground 259."
As we learned from previous branch-off sites, this is not a sufficient reason. Paradigm Shift is Paradigm Shift. Ground 259 is Ground 259. We both love and respect each as their own respective site. Conclusion: This reason is insufficient.
I'm not saying 259 has to do it because Paradigm Shift did it, I merely observed on 259 that there are 600+ members, and of those 600+ members, I can easily see about 20 are active. I know for a fact, a good amount of people with a huge amount of posts will never return here, period, and I honestly doubt members with a few posts to none at all will return. It's great 259 has so many members, but even a person new to the site can see there are not 600+ members logged in. - Deletion of profiles would have the unnecessary side-effect of breaking links. In the event of tracking, even moving the profiles to an archive board would be terribly annoying if one returned and retroactively had to go through his own posts.
A member that returns wouldn't necessarily have to retroactively go through his own posts, if nothing, save for the biography thread, was moved. I am not saying delete the biography, but just the account, and make an announcement that members who have not posted in so many months, years, had their account deleted, but can be restored, and their biography moved. I can understand people that joined in 2006, 2007 would be upset, but I see far more people with zero posts than people with a bajillion posts in the member list. One thread Mikey-man, it's just one thread (or two, if they made an updated bio). If they come back, they can just ask a staff member to restore posts and money. Besides, if an oldbie did come back, and they joined years ago, it'd be a good chance for them to update their character's bio, because no one stays the same after so many years or months. People that have a habit of coming and going, that's fine. People that have not even bothered making a bio, or posted just a bio, should have their account deleted, and biography moved to an archive section. Anyways, that's my thoughts, take it with a grain of salt.

As a player that comes and goes, I can safely say that my links from my old profiles are all broken. I had running thread lists for past and current characters that evolved over a number of years, and the links are all messed up. I can't even go back and see where Oleysa started because it's all jacked.
Also, a player who has had her ACCOUNT(S) deleted for one reason or another, I agree with Mikey in that it does more harm than good. Players who come and go are still players, and should be welcomed. Deleting or moving someone's stuff can be off-setting and make them not want to come back.

I personally enjoy being able to set back up my old accounts, threads and all the goods.
But if, for one reason or another, the team decided to clean things up, I don't know if I would argue too heavily. Im really fine either way, and both make great points.
Still, sort of a moot point now though, considering admin already crushed it xD
