"This is stupid."

Elias grumbles, walking up towards the academy itself. Slung over one shoulder is a large duffel bag filled with clothes, as the rest of his treasures have been left in Territory 256. It was a decision he lamented somewhat, not because he expected them to be stolen by the time he returned, but rather because he enjoyed looking at them.

No one would dare steal from him anyway.

Elias sighs, looking around. This place was definitely better off than his own territory, giving him reason to be somewhat jealous. Then again... if they were better off, that meant they probably had some nice stuff to take, in turn.

Either way, it would be something to do on the side while he developed his power.

"It's so pretty here." Rose giggles, looking around somewhat excitedly.

This definitely was nothing like home. Maybe she'd finally see what it's like to live a good life. Or even a decent one? She'll even take an okay one.

She too carried very little. Rose didn't have much to call her own in the first place. She had a few sets of clothing in a beat up backpack, but they mostly all looked the same.

"I'm happy you took me with you..." she says, looking at her feet and shifting bashfully.

“You better be.”

Elias pulls off his bag, then basically throws it at her.

“At least make yourself somewhat useful and carry this.”

It wasn’t particularly heavy, but given how rough he’d been throwing it, it wouldn’t be an easy catch.

Rose sloppily catches the bag, causing her to stumble back two steps as she laughs awkwardly. She hoists it back up in her arms like she's carrying a giant egg, clutching it to her chest.

God. She can smell him off the bag.

Her cheeks redden as she does her best to keep up with him.

"N-no problem!! Let me know if you need me to do anything else!!"

[Tina Bennet]

A nearby tree's leaves rustle for a moment before a small blonde figure drops to the ground, landing as though she had just performed some amazing gymnastic feat. Tina's focus shifts to teh two in teh courtyard as the bag gets thrown, noticing how the blonde seemed to be in charge while the girl seemed quiet. Very quiet, and very red.

"Hey, you live here now, too?" she asked, walking up to the pair like a small hop to her step.

Elias’ nose crinkles like he smells something terrible as the small blonde approaches. While he doesn’t expect others to know who he is, considering they were no longer in “his” territory, it was annoying nonetheless.

“Yes. It seems as long as I want to develop my Qi, we’re going to have to live here.”

He has no problem speaking for Rose.

“What are.... classes like, here?”

He hates that he has to ask that question.

"Are they fun? Are there a lot of people?" Rose asks eagerly, excited to see a new person already.

One that's not about to die for once.

"Heh...heheh...look she's so small...and cute~~..."

[Tina Bennet]

Tina shrugged as the boy explained they were living there until their qi was developed. It was a pretty standard story, nothing that impressed her too much, but she rolled with it.

"Eh, they're not too bad. Some are kinda boring. Other times, we make it fun." An impish grin spread across her face at the last part. She'd done that herself, more than once. She turned her attention to the girl when she spoke.

"Eh, sometimes there's a lot people." She preened a bit at the praise.

"So who're you?"

She'd mostly just answered Rose and not Elias? She was looking at Rose while talking and not Elias?

Unacceptable.

Elias turns and backhands Rose in the face, barely even looking at her as he does it, as if it's something he does all the time.

"Stop being distracting. I'm asking questions."

Then, his eyes go back to the tiny girl.

"How do they teach you to improve your power?"

"I'm-"

Rose's head whips to the side from the impact of the back hand, and she gives a soft squeak.

Her eyes tear up as she pulls the bag up to hide her face; and she starts muttering something over and over under her breath. If you listen close enough, it's "Sorry", but it seems she's trying to be quiet about it so that she isn't distracting.

She watched the girl get hit hard enough to make her head whip around, but didn't chastise him or even reacting to it as though it were an issue. It wasn't like he was hitting her, so she stayed as she was until the girl started mumbling behind the bag. She turned her attention to Elias.

"Depends on what you do. They teach you control, how to use it in different ways. You learn what kind of stuff goes on in the world that changes things." She shrugged. "Normal stuff, I guess."

"That's it?"

What a disappointment.

Elias sighs, then shrugs again. He might as well indulge the girl's question from before, since she'd at least seemingly learned her lesson. After all, she hadn't tried to stop him, and her attention had swiftly returned to Elias.

"I'm Elias. That is Rose."

That. Not she.

"....you are?"

It's hard to tell whether he even wants to hear the answer to that question.

Rose just kinda nods behind the bag she's sobbing into when she's introduced.

Tina cocked her head at Elias, not impressed with him or Cabal's presentation so far.

"Told you, depends on you and what you do. Sometimes stuff just happens." She shrugged, knowing Leyak wasn't part of the normal curriculum but not seeing any reason to bring him up, either. "You want normal classes, they got it. You want something more, they got it, but you gotta make it happen." She's not handing stuff to you on a plate, dude.

"Cool." She nodded at the introductions, already happy to move on. "I'm Tina." Her chest puffed out a bit at her own introduction. She was kind of a big deal. In her own way.

He already hates her. He can tell just from the way she talked to him, and talked about herself, that he was already hoping she'd fall down an elevator shaft.

"Fantastic. I love self-directed learning."

No he doesn't.

Elias turns to look at Rose.

"I'm done with my questions, you can talk now."
